Every day, Fiona and Rico are blossoming more and more. They’re becoming comfortable with being petted and it’s such a joy to see, especially with Rico, who has truly come out of his shell. Fiona has stopped hissing and now allows pets from time to time. We’re still very much letting her set the pace, respecting her comfort and boundaries, but even these small steps are huge milestones.

The playpen is open, and while Fiona is still shy, Rico now confidently ventures out though only when no one is in the room. Moments like this remind us that trust and love take time, and every tiny breakthrough is a beautiful victory 🥹❤️

Louis was found laying on the side of the road, with blood coming from his mouth, nose, and left eye. I had him taken straight to the vet, after doing X-rays, we were so relieved to find he had no broken bones. But the impact of the hit had ruptured his eye, and despite every effort to save it, we couldn’t, he needed eye removal surgery.

The saddest part of Louis’s story is that he had an owner. He was used for breeding, and when he needed help the most, he was surrendered. Sadly, this isn’t an isolated story. Too often, animals used for breeding are left behind when they need care the most. And if a rescue doesn’t step in, many of them don’t get a second chance.

Louis is now safe and surrounded by love because of you 🙏🏽

Hi beautiful KRA fam, I wanted to share a little about how Kitten Rescue Australia really runs. While many people think we have a big team, it’s really just me, with my daughter Chloé helping behind the scenes with admin, operations, and vet coordination.

Everyday I wake up to dozens of messages about cats in need of help, and I always start by prioritising the most critical ones. Before I can rush out, I need to attend to the cats already in my care, medicating, feeding, and cleaning litters, then it’s off to collect more rescues.

In just the past six weeks, we’ve rescued 52 cats, 48 of them critical and 19 who were scheduled to be euthanised.

Thanks to our growing KRA Monthly Support Angels, I’ve been able to welcome even more cats and give them the essential vetting they need, like de-sexing, vaccinations, microchips, flea/worm treatments. Your one-off donations go straight to the critical cases, the urgent, life-saving care that often costs thousands.

I honestly can’t put into words how grateful I am to everyone who supports these precious lives. Many of them wouldn’t be here without your love and compassion. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. 💛
