What's goodie fams...

Happy birthday to my absolute pride and joy, my baby Maximus! Where do I even begin to find the words to express what this incredible dog has done for me on so many levels? He has brought an immeasurable amount of light, laughter, and healing into my life, proving every single day that dogs truly are our greatest companions.

Maximus is an absolute blast to work with and train, bringing boundless energy and enthusiasm to everything he does. He has also settled effortlessly into his role as the absolute best little brother to Oreo, making their dynamic duo a constant source of entertainment and warmth in our home. Make no mistake though while he is endlessly sweet, Maximus is an incredibly confident dog who certainly knows how to use his vocals to let you know his thoughts!

Despite his big personality and bold confidence, he will forever and always be my little baby. Here is to celebrating many more years of health, happiness, and unforgettable moments with my sweet boy. Happy birthday, Maximus!

What's goodie fams...

Owning two entire male American Staffordshire Terriers is a journey that demands dedication, respect, and unwavering consistency. While I take immense pride in Maximus and Oreo, sharing my life with these powerful dogs hasn't been without its challenges. My biggest hurdle was Maximus’s tendency to redirect his high-energy excitement onto Oreo, creating a tense cycle of frustration that required my constant vigilance.

I am completely comfortable walking them independently and investing quality, one-on-one training time with each of them to refine their individual behaviours. I am no fool; I know firsthand just how formidable their strength is, and I am acutely aware that the hardest chapter is right around the corner as Maximus turns three tomorrow.

Yet, looking at how far we’ve come, I feel a profound sense of pride. In moments that previously would have triggered a redirection, Maximus has begun to choose differently. When excitement spikes near Oreo, he now pauses, resists the old urge, and turns his focus entirely to me for guidance. That breakthrough didn't happen by accident it is the result of relentless patience and trust.

If you are facing your own daunting training hurdles, let this be your reminder that consistency pays off. Breakthroughs are possible, even with the most powerful breeds, when you become the steady anchor your dogs need.
