The 2026 Queensland Thoroughbred Awards. Lots of glitz and glamour!

Queensland Off The Track really are leading the way. All acknowledged retrainers in QLD receive phenomenal support to help us transition these beautiful horses out of racing.

Congratulations to Alex Kelly Horsemanship for being named runner-up retrainer of the year.

And of course a huge thank you to the legend Aimee Bar. We are a good team!

So incredibly inspiring.

Sophia Hill and her Australian OTT Humble Glory came 14th in the world! They competed against very very fancy purpose bred warmbloods, ridden by the best riders the world has possibly ever known.

AND they were one of only four combinations to finish on their dressage score. That means no jumping penalties and no time penalties around an extremely big technical cross-country course, and they did the same the next day in the show jumping.

I loved meeting Sophia at Aachen and I really loved watching her and Hughie in every phase. 🤩

A lovely update from Darcie who took 4yo Ollie (Torque So Rare) home in June.

“Hey Amanda, just thought you’d like to know Ollie is doing great.
He is a pretty cool little dude and keeps exceeding my expectations.
He had his first comp this weekend and he even came home with a ribbon!
He is such a fast learner and a very talented little man. My coach has had nothing but wonderful things to say about him.
He is a pretty cool little dude and keeps exceeding expectations.”

Darcie actually worked with Ollie when he was racing. As soon as she found out he was at our place she was very quick to make him her own ☺️.

Aimee and Nashira are on their way home from a fantastic weekend at their second ever ODE at Warwick Horse Trials, Morgan Park.

They finished sixth in the Westvets EvA 80 Junior after a beautiful clear cross country round this afternoon.

Some of Nashi’s old Racing owners came to watch him which is so awesome. Here they are this morning with Aimee and Nashi.

We have a very beautiful new arrival.

Franklyiresistible is a 4yo mare by Better Than Ready who had absolutely no interest in being a racehorse. She must have known there was a show ring out there waiting for her.

Her racing owners (a group of ladies called ‘Frankie’s Mums’ ☺️) adored her. “Frankie is so glamorous and beautiful and has an amazing temperament, but she decided she's too beautiful to put in much effort on the track! We love her to bits and are so sad she didn’t seem to want to race, we will miss her”.

And from her trainer:
“She is an absolute pleasure to have around and is very easy to do everything with on the ground. She is great for the farrier, floats well, and stands quietly in the tie-ups with no fuss.
On the track, she is a capable and willing mare who does everything asked of her well. She has plenty to offer and, with the right person, could make a lovely horse for her next career.”

I am still away so Aimee took delivery of her, she said “Frankie is so sweet. I just love her and she is so pretty”.

I am looking forward to meeting her!!
