Maples review of her favourite bush walk!!

Mount Ninderry is dog-friendly, provided your dog remains on a leash at all times.

Trail Details

• Location: Ninderry Bushland Conservation Reserve, Sunshine Coast (near Yandina and Coolum Beach). Carpark is located at the end of Ninderry Road.
• Distance: About 3 km to 3.4 km out-and-back (roughly 1.7 km each way to the summit).
• Duration: About 45 minutes to 1 hour.
• Difficulty: Moderate. It features a gradual start along fire roads followed by a steeper section with rocky steps and loose gravel near the top.
• Views: Dual eastern and western lookout platforms offering views of the Maroochy River, Mount Coolum, and the Blackall Range.

Important Tips for Dog Walkers

• Leash Law: Dogs must be kept on a lead to protect local wildlife and respect other hikers.
• Water: There is no drinking water available along the trail, so bring extra water for both you and your dog.
• Footwear: The trail has rocky steps and loose dirt, so wear supportive shoes.
• Timing: Early mornings are recommended, especially on warmer days or busy weekends
TICK WARNING- make sure your dogs tick prevention is up to date! Do daily searches especially after a bush walk!

🚨 RAT BAIT: A HIDDEN DANGER FOR PETS 🐾

Rat and mouse baits can cause life-threatening poisoning in dogs and cats. Pets can be exposed by eating bait directly or, in some cases, eating poisoned rodents.

⚠️ Your pet may look perfectly well at first.
Many common baits stop blood from clotting normally, causing internal bleeding. Signs may take several days to appear—so never wait for symptoms before seeking help!

Signs can include:
🔴 Weakness or unusual tiredness
🔴 Pale gums
🔴 Bruising or bleeding
🔴 Blood in urine or stools
🔴 Difficulty breathing or collapse

Different baits cause different types of poisoning, so the product’s ingredients matter.

☎️ Think your pet has eaten rat bait? Contact your vet or nearest emergency vet immediately—even if you’re unsure.
✅ Bring the packaging or a clear photo of the label.
❌ Do not induce vomiting or give home remedies unless directed by a veterinary professional.

🏡 Help prevent poisoning by keeping bait securely stored and completely inaccessible to pets. Don’t assume a bait station is pet-proof, and let your pest controller know you have animals.
