Small groups mean genuine little bonds 🤍

These guys were so cute sticking together haha I would call one and they would all come trotting over 🫶🏼

I love being able to give a high level of attention to each special pup, because their experience here genuinely matters to me and I know our clients feel reassured knowing their dashy is receiving the best care possible 🙌🏼

Ok May 2!! We**ie walk at 8am meeting at the Alexandra Life Saving club, but off to the right so we can meet near ‘Wilkes family park’ and walk up past The Bluff and up to the lookout. I’m sure one of the beaches there are dog friendly too!

I hope to see you there 🤍🤍

Join the We**ie Walk Club through the link in my bio!

After the walk I’ll be heading to Noosa for the Dog Lovers event and anyone is more than welcome to come along too

Hidden somewhere around the rocks on Point Cartwright is the words saddest attempt of a painted we**ie dog that will hopefully make some kids day 🫶🏼 along with a strawberry and mandarin slice haha

Eleanor and I will be hiding rocks around there from time to time, painted as weens, fruit, flowers 🤍 if you find one - keep it 🥰 or hide it for someone else and make their day and pass on the joy

Your dachshund deserves someone who can prioritise quiet time just as much as stimulation and fun

After a big morning of play, and a nap - the dogs did not need to get back into being chaos goblins. I quietly went outside with them, grabbed my green bin, and started weeding our small side path

The dogs came over to investigate, sniff, get cuddles, watch… and after that? They all had another nap.

Your dog shouldn’t want to go crazy every time they are outside, have no manners, have no self control when there are other dogs to play with. That is what a lot of daycares teach though, the constant need for stimulation and arousal which honestly leads to really sh*tty behaviours.

Keeping it small and structured is why I do what I do, so that your dog doesn’t just ‘have somewhere to go during the day’ but to support them to be the best doggies they can be 🫶🏼

And from the heavens… came a dog who doesn’t bark at literally nothingSpoiler. It’s neither of these two though 🤣

Blink and you’ll miss it.

Final zoomies for the day before Mango and Moose head home after their first day with us 🫶🏼

They started off a little unsure and hesitant, through gentle and thoughtful introduction they ended up very happy and having a fun time

In fact, probably even a little more confident 🤍

This is why small numbers are crucial, this isn’t for my pocket, it’s for your pups 🫶🏼 and small intentional groups are what’s best for them 🙌🏼

Your dog needs to use their brain as much as their body

Small activities like this fulfil their enrichment needs and keep them content, while not overdoing the exercise which is taxing on their long bodies

Does your dachshund deserve better? Book a trial in today - DM us or fill out the contact form on our website linked in the bio

I’ll tell you a secret and a story

You can’t trust what you see online. I understand how anxiety inducing it can be to leave your dog somewhere, especially for the first time - so here is where we need to take extra steps

All my clients get sent several updates during the day, photos, videos, full run downs, where we went, what’s been happening … I can’t imagine wondering how your dog is going all day long?

I recently had a client bring her dog to me who had just attended another small dog daycare where she ‘did not not fit in’ ~ allegedly

I was told this dashy could be nervous but eventually settles, so I said bring her for a trial day and we will see how we go

An hour in, monitoring the new dog, assessing her behaviour and body language, I knew this dog had recently been through something traumatic. She was not anxious, she was fearful, on her toes, on edge, and clinging to me like nothing else

I sent a million updates with video/photo/behaviour breakdowns to my client and actually asked her ‘is this dog reactive as she’s occasionally snapping at the others and so I’m keeping her separate with me for now’

The owner was shocked, no she isn’t, I even take her to the dog park - she was mortified and stressed, I reassured her not to worry, that I’ve dealt with this kind of thing for over a decade and she will be safe until picked up

At pick up I asked what had happened between her last park visit and coming here for such a dramatic change in behaviour - the other small doggy day care.

I said I need as much detail as possible so we can work out how we can support *dogs name* to get past this. That’s when she told me ‘there are no details’ … I said… well .. surely there is something? Who what when where why… and all my client was told was ‘the other dogs could tell she was weak and ganged up on her so we had to crate her all day’ … sorry but what the actual hell…

No photos. No video. No contact during the day. Just this vague story at pick up and now a newly anxious/fearful dog.

My heart broke for her because I know this can lead to lifelong trauma in some cases - especially after being bullied and then locked in a cage (more in comments)
