🚨 Help Protect Our Wildlife & Pets from H5N1 Bird Flu Alert 🚨

We’re sharing an important update regarding H5N1 High Pathogenicity Avian Influenza (HPAI) a highly contagious disease affecting birds worldwide and now detected in QLD.

While the risk to humans remains low, it’s essential we all stay vigilant to help protect our pets, wildlife, and community.

🐦 Signs to watch for in birds:
• Sudden death
• Lethargy or loss of appetite
• Difficulty breathing
• Neurological signs (tremors, seizures)

⚠️ What to do if you find a sick or dead bird:
❌AVOID
• Do NOT touch or move it
📷RECORD
• Take note of location, time, and symptoms
📱REPORT
• Report immediately to the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline: 1800 675 888
• Visit birdflu.gov.au for more information

❗️ Do NOT bring birds into the clinic: ALL birds brought to the clinic will be triaged outside prior to entering the building

Meet the staff Monday! 💙

This is Chloe, a nurse who has recently joined us this year. Bringing great experience and knowledge to our clinic so far. Chloe graduated for the Australian College of applied animal science in 2017. And since has been working as a vet nurse. Her interests in the industry include emergency, critical care and intensive care 🏥🐾

Chloe owns a beautiful Kelpie named Mia which she rescued while working in emergency care in 2020. Mia is full of life and smiles, which she shows to many people when she sits on reception with us 🐶💛

Chloes hobby’s include spending time with Mia and going to the beach and parks 🌊🌳

Don’t be shy and say a quick hello to Chloe next time you see her around clinic!
