🚨 TODAY ONLY: Twice the love. Twice the impact!! 🚨

Today is RSPCA’s national Give to Get Them Home appeal, and until 11:59pm tonight, every donation will be dollar matched thanks to the incredible support of Royal Canin, Peter Alexander Sleepwear, Bravecto Australia, local individual donors, and our media partners Nova 919 and FIVEAA!

That means a $25 donation becomes $50. A $50 donation becomes $100...
And a single act of kindness can help TWICE as many animals get the care they desperately need. ❤️‍🩹

Every day, around 20 animals arrive in our care. Many are frightened, injured, sick, or neglected, and some have nowhere else to go. TOMORROW IS OUR BIGGEST ANNUAL FUNDRAISER!! 🎉💚

For one day only, every dollar donated to RSPCA's Give To Get Them Home fundraiser will be DOUBLED by our generous giving partners - like Royal Canin, Peter Alexander, and Bravecto - helping twice as many vulnerable animals get the care they need. 🐾

Right now, we're caring for 465 animals in total - dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, guinea pigs, reptiles, and more.

With care costing more than $83 a day for a dog and $60 a day for a cat, your support helps provide shelter, veterinary treatment, enrichment, toys, bedding, and so much more while they wait for a loving home.

“He is the best part of my day” 💙 “If I didn’t have the pet insurance I wouldn’t have him”

Meet Vincent, known to everyone as Kip. 🐶

Back at only 6 weeks old, Kip’s owner, Callie, knew the second she held him “he was mine.”

“He’s the funniest, sassiest puppy I’ve ever met. Lots of personality, brightens everyone’s day. He loves a cuddle.”

Then, on a normal day at home, Kip was attacked when an older dog turned on him. His injuries were substantial, requiring immediate surgery to save his life. 💔

Thankfully, Kip was covered with us when it happened: “You may not think you need it. I definitely didn’t think I’d need it especially this soon but it’s a must. Pet insurance is what I’ll preach forever.”

We’re happy to share Kip is doing well post-surgery, and if it wasn’t for the cone you’d never know something so life threatening had happened to him.

“My only advice would be act as fast as you can and to get pet insurance!”. “It took the weight of decisions and money off my shoulders and has allowed me to focus on getting him better.”

We’re deeply disappointed, and we know you are too.

Greyhound Industry Reform Inspector Sal Perna has handed down his final report and recommended that greyhound racing should continue in South Australia, despite significant animal welfare concerns remaining unresolved.

Greyhounds are still being injured, hundreds are still waiting for homes, and key welfare reforms have not been fully implemented.

But this isn’t over yet.

The future of greyhound racing is still being considered through the Parliamentary Inquiry, and it’s not too late to make your voice heard.

If you believe greyhounds deserve better, make a submission before 9 October 2026 and help shape the future for these dogs.

Heya, I’m Enola - your Pet of the Week 👋🐾

I’m 3 years old, full of love, and if you happen to have snacks... well, let's just say that we’re already BFF's. 🍖💙

I’m a sweet, playful girl who loves spending time with my humans, soaking up attention, and having a bit of fun.

I’m also very food motivated, which means I’m always keen to learn new things if there’s a tasty reward involved (what can I say? A girl has her priorities in order. 😋)

Once I’ve had a little time to settle in, I’m a pretty chill girl. but I’d love a forever home where I can keep building my confidence with some force-free training and share all the affection I’ve been saving up for my special person or family.

A few important things to know:
🐾 I’d love to meet any kiddos in the family first
🐾 I’d prefer to be your one-and-only dog

If you’re looking for the loyal-est and best-est friend in the whole world with a BIG heart and an even BIGGER appetite, I might just be the girl for you. 🫶

A huge round of a-PAWS for Minlaton District School! 🍪🐾

The incredible Minlaton District School community on the Yorke Peninsula has raised an amazing $870 for animals in need through a paw print cookie fundraiser! 💙

A special thank you to Di and the MDS Wellbeing Team, who baked and sold the adorable cookies to their school community.

We can't thank you enough for your kindness, creativity and support. Every dollar raised will go directly towards helping vulnerable animals receive the care, shelter and second chances they deserve. 🐶🐱🐰

50 days, 100 days, 200 days... Some even longer. 😔

While the average cat spends 23 days in our care and the average dog spends 27, these beautiful animals have been waiting far longer for someone to choose them.

Some animals spend longer in care because they need extensive rehabilitation after surgery, are waiting for their owner's court matter to finalise, or need some behavioural modification before they're even available for adoption.

Others simply get overlooked time and time again. 💔

The animals you see available for adoption are just the tip of the iceberg. Behind every profile is an animal who's lived a whole life before ending up at the shelter.

Next Thursday, 1 October, is the RSPCA's biggest giving day of the year... and we need your help to make it our biggest yet! 🐾

Last financial year, 6,453 animals came through RSPCA SA's doors. Some stay with us for just a few weeks, while others can wait months (or even over a year!) for the loving home they deserve.

Next Thursday, every donation will be DOUBLED thanks to our incredible partners Peter Alexander Sleepwear, Royal Canin, Bravecto Australia, and generous local supporters.

With care costing more than $83 a day for a dog and $60 a day for a cat, your support helps provide lifesaving treatment, shelter, enrichment and love while animals recover and wait for their forever families.

🎯 Our goal is to raise $536,000 to help fund life-saving care for animals in need. And because more than 70% of RSPCA SA's work is powered by community support, we simply can't do it without you!

Yooo hoomans! We're Tony, Cappy and Shelldon- three adorable Murray Short-Necked Turtles each looking for a new place to call home. 🐢

We've been swimming, exploring, and basking in the sun for soooo long here at RSPCA... and while Di and the rest of the wildlife team are TURTLE-y awesome, we're keen to SHELL-abrate in our new homes!

🐢 Tony here. I'm the handsome large gentleman of the group!
🐢 Cappy checking in! I'm curious and friendly - and I may be small, but I have the heart of an explorer!
🐢 Shelldon here! Much like Cappy, I'm curious about absolutely everything. Why sit still when there are places to swim, sunshine to enjoy and mysteries to solve?

And what do we all have in common? Each of us need committed turtle-loving humans who can provide:

🗺️ A safe enclosure with space to swim and explore
💦 Clean, well-filtered water and regular maintenance
☀️ A secure basking area with appropriate heat and UVB (we love getting some sun on our shells!)
🪱 A varied, species-appropriate diet
