We are so incredibly proud to announce that Australian Champion CelticPryde Gravedigger “Bones” has qualified for the Celebration of the Best WA.

This is Bones’ second year qualifying — and he is only 14 months old. 🏆

Bones is our 4th generation home-bred boy, making this achievement especially meaningful. He represents generations of dreams, dedication, knowledge and love poured into the breed that has been such a huge part of our lives.

To see something you have carefully nurtured through the generations stand proudly and achieve this recognition at such a young age is hard to put into words.

We couldn’t be prouder of you, Bones. 💙🐾

Another reason why I tell you all to wait until mature before des*xing.

In conclusion, this study shows that the risk of cranial cruciate ligament disease in dogs is linked to how long they are exposed to natural s*x hormones, and the relationship isn’t simple or linear. The highest risk was seen when females were spayed before about 1054 days (just under 3 years) and males before about 805 days (a little over 2 years). These results may help define what counts as “early” spay or neuter when it comes to cranial cruciate ligament disease risk.

Veterinary reproduction specialists now recommend hormone-preserving sterilization: preventing unwanted litters & less risk of torn cruciates.

❄️🐺 BRASHAWIN ENVIOUS WAIL OF CELTICPRYDE — “BANSHEE” 🐺❄️

A LITTLE GIRL WITH A VERY BIG FUTURE

Some dogs simply steal your heart. Others arrive and make you feel they may become something very special.

For us, Banshee is both. ❤️

At her very first show, against a massive lineup of beautiful baby puppies, this gorgeous Yakutian Laika girl took BEST BABY PUPPY OF GROUP and 1st place in Baby Puppy Sweepstakes!

It was a pure thrill for us watching our little girl step into the ring and do so beautifully. 🏆❤️

But behind that beautiful show girl is one seriously cheeky little snow wolf! 😂

Banshee digs holes that are genuinely impressive — apparently landscaping is one of her many talents.

She also believes the water bowl is a swimming pool, happily splashing it up the walls and all over the floor while leaving the other dogs without water.

The upside? She’s dramatically improving our household skating abilities. 😂

Rain doesn’t bother her either — she runs through it like it’s snow, absolutely loving every second.

Then it’s straight onto our beds: soaking wet, shaking everywhere, looking extremely pleased with herself, before snuggling in for a cuddle as though she has done absolutely nothing wrong. 😂❤️

That’s Banshee.

Beautiful, clever, mischievous and completely full of personality.

The Yakutian Laika is a breed we have become incredibly passionate about, and Banshee is an important part of our vision for its future.

We want to approach the breed thoughtfully, with health, temperament, structure, breed type and genetic diversity at the heart of our decisions, while preserving the qualities that make the Yakutian Laika so extraordinary.

She’s still a baby, so for now we let her grow, learn, mature and simply enjoy being Banshee.

CH Rushinround A Balance In Time

“Drift”

Some dogs are special because of what they achieve in the show ring. Others become special because of what they represent.

CH Rushinround A Balance In Time — “Drift” is very much the latter.

Bred by Brandon Dodd of Rushinround, Drift was born on 7 June 2024, from CH Duff Diament Jakucji (Imp BGR) × Amore Sandys Karma. From the beginning, she was a very exciting young Yakutian Laika, but her importance would grow far beyond her own show career.

Drift became the first Yakutian Laika to call Western Australia home, and in doing so became part of a very special chapter in the development of the breed here in WA.

Her journey into the show ring began as a Baby Puppy in September 2024. From those early appearances, Drift quickly demonstrated that she was a serious show prospect, collecting Best of Breed, Bitch Challenge and Puppy wins, along with a string of impressive results across Western Australia.

Her success continued throughout 2025, where she was awarded No. 1 WA Yakutian Laika Rising Star, finishing the year with 45 points.

Drift ultimately secured her Australian Championship title on 100 points, with points awarded under Kelly, Brook Rogers and Jordan Black — a wonderful achievement for a young bitch who was helping establish the breed in a completely new part of the country.

But Drift’s influence hasn’t been limited to her own achievements.

She has also been beautifully represented in the junior ring, being mostly shown by Elektra Blakeney, who went on to win Best Junior Handler Under 10s – WA with Drift.

That partnership is particularly special — watching a young handler and a young Yakutian Laika grow, learn and succeed together is exactly the sort of thing that makes showing dogs so rewarding.

For Brandon and the Rushinround family, Drift represents much more than another champion.

She represents the journey of a breed travelling across Australia, the excitement of seeing a new Yakutian Laika established in Western Australia, and the hope of what the future may bring.

From her first Baby Puppy appearance to becoming a Champion and the first Yakutian Laika in WA to achieve her Championship title, Drift has already made her mark.

And perhaps the most exciting part is that her story is still only beginning.

Brashawin Dreamweaver “Yuki” ❤️

Yuki is a truly special girl who leaves paw prints far deeper than any show ring ever could.

Yuki is a dog with strong character. With strangers she can be a little aloof and reserved, but that is simply her nature. She asks for respect, and once given space and patience, she reveals a deeply affectionate, loyal girl who bonds on her own terms.

At home, however, she is anything but serious. 😂 Yuki is our resident clown — full of personality, vocal opinions, and endless antics that keep us laughing every day.

Her most special bond is with Selena. The two share their own language, including their beloved peek-a-boo games, and a connection that has grown into something truly beautiful. Yuki is a constant presence in Selena’s world, and Selena in hers.

She also knows the school routine better than anyone — always first at the car, we don’t even need a clock in our house she is always ready for the run to school and just as eager for the trip home. 😂

But Yuki’s greatest achievement has nothing to do with the show ring.

Through her quiet companionship and steady presence, she helped a little girl come out of her shell — giving Selena confidence, comfort, and a way to engage with the world at her own pace.

Some dogs win trophies.

Some dogs change lives.

Yuki is well on her way to her championship title, but in our eyes she has already achieved something far greater.

She is a once-in-a-lifetime dog.

And no matter what titles she earns, she will always be our talkative clown, our peek-a-boo partner, the first at the car for school runs — and the dog who helped a little girl find her voice.

Forever loved. Forever family. ❤️🐾

We hope she with be pup in the coming months, Yuki has been fully health tested and Embark tested and profiled.

So Ross and Miss Stormy ventured out to the Queensland Bulldog Club Inc. Qld Bulldog Specialty, and what a show they had! ❤️🐾

I only wish we could have been there with them. Every time we attempt to make it to Queensland, something ends up happening — the house, the kids, semen… there’s ALWAYS something! 🤣🤣🤣

One day we WILL actually make it to Queensland without some sort of CelticPryde chaos unfolding! 😂

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the specialty happen, in one way or another — the workers, judges, helpers, committee and all our fellow Bulldoggy folk. These shows take an enormous amount of work behind the scenes, and it is so appreciated. ❤️

And then there’s our little Miss Stormy…

She absolutely showed her heart out for Ross, and we couldn’t be prouder of this little girl. 🥰

Over a very long day, surrounded by all the big Bulldogs and the atmosphere of her first big specialty, Stormy took absolutely everything in her stride.

If anything, she was Miss Consistency! 😂

She just went out there, trusted Ross, showed what she could do and got on with the job.

We are incredibly proud of you, Miss Stormy, and of course well done Ross for getting her out there and doing such a beautiful job with her. ❤️🐾
