🌟 Vomiting or diarrhoea in your pet? 🌟
Vomiting and diarrhoea are common in dogs and cats, but there can be many different reasons for them.
Some common causes include:
🤢 Eating something they shouldn't – rubbish, table scraps, spoiled food or something found in the garden can all upset the stomach.
🍽️ A sudden diet change – changing food too quickly or introducing new treats can cause digestive upset.
🦠 Infections or parasites – worms, Giardia and gastrointestinal infections can cause vomiting and diarrhoea.
🧸 Foreign objects – pets can swallow toys, socks, bones, string and other objects that may cause a dangerous intestinal blockage.
☠️ Toxins – some foods, plants, medications and household products can be poisonous to pets.
🩺 Other illnesses – pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease and problems affecting the liver, kidneys or other organs can also cause gastrointestinal symptoms.

❗Puppies, kittens, elderly pets and pets with existing health problems can become unwell more quickly, so it's important to seek advice sooner rather than later.
A single episode of vomiting or a mild bout of diarrhoea may sometimes settle on its own in an otherwise healthy pet, but vomiting and diarrhoea are symptoms, not a diagnosis. If you're worried about your pet, don't hesitate to seek veterinary attention.
