Past and the present.
While I've always shown each ribbon when it's won, I've spent most of my life believing (being told) that displaying them would be a self-indulgent and full of my own importance move. And that people would target me if I looked too successfull.
Drilled into me from a young age that even now it's taken me days to share this picture.
But I am extremely proud.
Each ribbon represents hours of exercise, education, feed, treatments, grooming, love, travel and money. These are from many different horses who all had to go through the same routine and a few good prayers to throw down the goods on the day.
I'm also still discovering more, like my National Title sashes which were boxed away for so long I kind of forgot them.
So if you see me flashing my awards over and over, just know I'm making up for lost time. And I no longer care if I look 'up myself', cause I am that good and I'm owning it.
