Weโ€™re excited to launch a new monthly feature celebrating the horses that make the Mitavite community so special.

Each month, weโ€™ll select one horse to be featured across our social media channels, sharing their story, personality and what makes them unique.

Each week we'll be sharing practical horse nutrition and management advice from our team and industry experts to help keep your horse happy, healthy and performing at their best.

This week's tip comes from Equine Nutrition Advisor, Elicia Takenaga:

"As the weather cools down, horses often drink less water while increasing their roughage intake to help stay warm. This combination can increase the risk of dehydration and, in some cases, impaction colic. Adding salt to your horse's daily feed is a simple and economical way to encourage water consumption and support hydration throughout winter."
