Meet Frankie! 🐾

This tiny little Italian Greyhound came in for his vaccination and was quite possibly the cutest little patient we’ve had in our hands! 🥹

Frankie was so teeny, he practically fit in the palm of our hands. 🥰

Safe to say, we were all a little bit obsessed! 💚

Congratulations to Natasha! Tash received the award for ‘2026 Nurse Mentor of the Year’. We are incredibly proud of her for this well deserved achievement. She is an integral part of Greencross Caloundra and the team would be lost without her!

Bird flu is making headlines, so Better Homes & Gardens asked Greencross Vets what it means for our pets.

Greencross Vets veterinarian Dr Nina shares practical advice to help pet parents understand the risks and take simple precautions.

“Bird flu can infect all mammals, so dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets can all be infected.”

From avoiding contact with sick or dead wildlife to keeping cats indoors and dogs on a leash around wildlife, a few simple steps can help reduce exposure.

Read Dr Nina’s advice and the full Better Homes & Gardens article at:

🖤 A majestic visitor who never should have needed a trip to the vet.

This beautiful black swan was found with a fishing hook stuck in its mouth - a painful and completely preventable injury caused by discarded fishing gear.

Removing the hook required a general anaesthetic, along with pain relief to keep this feathered patient comfortable while we treated them. 🦢

A reminder to all anglers: please take your fishing line, hooks and tackle home with you or use a designated disposal bin. The Victorian Fisheries Authority advises that old fishing line should be placed in bins, or if there are no bins available, taken home, cut up and disposed of in general waste. Their Seal the Loop program also provides dedicated bins for unwanted fishing line, hooks, netting and rope. (VFA)

Discarded fishing gear can cause entanglement, injury and even death to wildlife. A few extra seconds to dispose of your gear properly can make a huge difference. 💔

🎣 Fish responsibly. Dispose responsibly. Protect our wildlife. A big thanks for the wildlife careers for bringing this amazing swan in and thanks to our team for helping 🫶🏼

After her procedure and a little time to recover, Stella is now doing amazingly well so far and almost back to being her happy self! 🥰🐶

We’re so pleased to see this beautiful girl feeling comfortable and healthy again. 💕

At our clinic, we are always looking for ways to improve the patient experience. We know that coming to the vet can be stressful for our feline friends, which is why we are proud to introduce our new Elevated Cat Parking Bays. 🏢🐱Cats naturally feel safer when they are high up and hidden. By keeping carriers off the floor and away from the direct eye line of dogs, we can significantly lower their stress levels in the waiting room.We invite our cat owners to utilize these stations during their next visit. Your pet’s comfort is our top priority!

Did you know? Animals, just like us, can suffer from arthritis. It's not just an issue for older pets - even younger dogs can experience this painful condition. Arthritis, often known as osteoarthritis, is a degenerative disease that if not treated, worsens over time. It's a pretty common condition, affecting at least four in five dogs over the age of eight and results in chronic pain. The main culprit? Wear and tear on the bone's protective layer, leading to inflammation and discomfort. Other factors like developmental issues can also play a role. Want to learn more? Stay tuned for our next post on spotting the early signs of arthritis and how to help your furry friend. If you suspect your pet is in pain, reach out to us for a check-up today.
