We have the absolute best guests! 🥹✨

There is truly no greater compliment than when riders return to Champagne Hill to experience the magic all over again. Two of our incredible guests, who first joined us in our very first season in 2020 for a 3-day trek, came back recently—this time bringing two of their close girlfriends to take over all four spots for a private 5-day Shoalhaven ride!

Hearing how much they loved everything—from bonding with Simba (our resident class clown!) and reuniting with the gorgeous Vegas, to the gourmet food, winery visits, and the care put in by Bernie, Mum, and Dad—reminds me exactly why we do what we do.

Here is the beautiful review she shared "from go to whoa":

"I have just completed the 5 day Shoalhaven ride with three girlfriends (effectively a private ride as there are only 4 spots available). My friend and I did the 3 day ride in Tiff’s first season in 2020. We loved it so much, we wanted to do the 5 day ride. This is a very popular ride and you will see why.

This is a 5-star holiday from Tiff’s welcome email, the beautiful barefoot and bitless horses, hosting by Tiff, her parents Lorraine and Lenny, stunning locations, and fabulous weather.

The food is gourmet from start to finish—restaurants, wineries, cafes, and carefully selected home-cooked meals. Yummo! Tiff is the hostess with the mostess, ably assisted by the warm and caring Bernie. Excellent fun guides who make sure you have the best experience on and off the horses. Both are really easy to talk to and our love of horses and travel meant we had lots to chat about.

I rode the class clown Simba who was a perfect match to my riding ability and personality. I felt so comfortable on him and with him and trusted him implicitly. On the beach ride I got to ride the stunning and super comfortable palomino Vegas again. I was smiling from ear to ear as he was the perfect forward gentleman.

Every day was a highlight. Starting with the connection afternoon, to high tea at the lookout, lengthy trots and sweet canters. All of Tiff’s horses are incredible, but whoever you are matched to will be your best friend quickly. An added bonus are the photos and daily videos Tiff collates so you can relive the magic.

This is a well thought out total experience from go to whoa. 5 stars is really not enough. Did we have fun? You bet! Would we do it again? Absolutely!"

Honestly, one of the best parts of this job is watching everyone bond with the horses. Our last group wanted to show how much they trusted their horses and do a little jumping, and the herd honestly outdid themselves.

Jumping takes a ton of trust, and seeing the horses look after their riders so beautifully was just awesome. Safe to say everyone—horses included—had the absolute best time!

Swipe to see Phoenix give it 110% 😉

Nothing beats a ride to the river with an amazing crew of horsey friends!

It was packed with many "woo hoo!" moments, endless laughs, and splashing around in the water.

And it was also incredibly bittersweet. This might just be the very last time I ride Shiloh to the river. He has given me so much, and a well-deserved retirement is just around the corner for him.

Holding this day extra close to my heart. Love you always, Shiloh boy. ❤️

🐴 HELP SAVE THE BRUMBIES – Send a letter to NSW Premier Chris Minns! Cut & Paste the letter below.

The ongoing aerial and ground culling of our Australian Brumbies is devastating, and we need to make our voices heard. If you want to stand up for these heritage animals and demand humane, non-lethal management solutions, please take two minutes to send a letter to the NSW Premier.

I have written a template below. All you need to do is copy the text, click on the link below, fill in your details, and paste in the message section:

Let’s flood his inbox and show the government that the community demands a compassionate approach to our wild horses. Please copy, paste, and share!

📄Letter to Premier Chris Minns:

The Hon. Chris Minns, MP

Premier of New South Wales

52 Martin Place

Sydney, NSW 2000

Subject: Urgent Request to Cease the Aerial and Ground Culling of Australian Brumbies

Dear Premier Minns,

I am writing to you today to express my deep concern and strong opposition regarding the ongoing aerial and ground culling of wild horses, or Brumbies, within New South Wales, particularly in the Kosciuszko National Park. As a citizen invested in animal welfare and Australia’s heritage, I urge your government to immediately halt these lethal operations and implement humane, sustainable management alternatives.

The Brumby holds an undeniable place in the cultural fabric of Australia. They are a living link to our pioneer history, celebrated in our literature, folklore, and national identity. To manage these animals through aerial shooting—a method that carries an inherently high risk of non-lethal wounding, prolonged suffering, and immense distress to social herd structures—is a compromise of the humane standards the New South Wales public expects.

While I understand the importance of protecting fragile alpine ecosystems and managing biodiversity, environmental conservation should not come at the cost of basic animal welfare.

The reliance on lethal culling overlooks viable, non-lethal management strategies that have been successfully utilised both in Australia and internationally.

These include:

Passive Trapping and Rehoming:

Supporting and expanding networks with experienced horse handlers, breed societies, and sanctuaries to capture, domesticate, and rehome Brumbies.

Fertility Control:

Investing in and implementing long-term immunocontraceptive programs to humanely manage population growth over time without bloodshed.

Exclusion Fencing:

Utilising strategic fencing to protect highly sensitive ecological zones or threatened flora species while allowing horses to occupy less vulnerable areas.

A compassionate approach to wildlife and feral population management is entirely possible. By pivoting away from standard culling practices and collaborating with wild horse management experts, rehoming organizations, and scientific advocates, New South Wales can lead the way in ethical environmental stewardship.

I urge you to listen to the growing public voice calling for mercy and dignity for these historic animals.

Please order an immediate moratorium on the culling of Brumbies and initiate a transparent review of non-lethal population control methods.

Thank you for your time, consideration, and leadership on this pressing matter.

Sincerely,

[Your Printed Name and address]

We are still smiling after reading this lovely feedback from one of our wonderful guests! Check out their review 🥂

'We had a wonderful experience. The horses were well loved and cared for, easy going and happy without bits. The scenery and experiences put together added to the trip very well. All the food and wines were chosen with thought and we loved the venues. Riding into the neighbouring vineyard for tastings and then walking home leading the horses was a great idea. Tiff and her parents Lenny and Lorraine did an incredible job! Bernie helped with the horses and rode with us and was also lovely. We lived with the family and were made to feel at home. The cooking standard was superb! The horses were sweet natured and eager to please. My horse, Apache, was happy up front and keen to go, which I love. I always love a good gallop where possible but they keep the canters on the beach on the down low and that was fine. The scenery and expansive views were exceptional. Picnics were provided in these beautiful places. There was hardly anyone else around and we had lovely long canters up the mountain through the trees and Ricky cliff-scapes.' ~ Karen, Perth, Australia
