HSES Bear is into his 5th week of education with us - to be sold as a ridden horse on behalf of Horse Shepherd Equine Sanctuary

His proving to be a lovely gelding who is willing to try - relaxing more with every session. His happily being handled (feet/rugging/floating) and his ridden work has progressed into the big arena introducing more flow in his work, trot poles and desentization opportunities.

HSES Bear will require a capable home to continue with his education/training as a ridden horse. Enquiries are welcome - please note he is not yet ready for inspections.

Habanero - 2021 stb gelding standing at approx 15hh.
(No race name- never raced or trialled)

Habanero has been started by youth rider under the guidance of Hilltop Horsemanship and is now for sale to a suitable home.

He has been ridden in arenas and around a stable/farm environment. He displays an easy going temprament in the early stages of his ridden life - offering a lovely walk and trot.

Suitable for a rider/handler with confidence due to being new to a ridden horse. Enquiries welcome via private DM.

When starting a horse we like to introduce above the eye exercises and a rider ba****ck - building their confidence before starting the ridden exercises.

Above the eye exercises include teaching

✔️ Park up
✔️ Desentiation (tarp/rope/exercise ball)
✔️ Flexion
✔️ Contact/rubbing all over
✔️Bareback mounting/dismounting.

🐎 Our focus is building confidence for both horse and rider.

As Fallon heads towards the end of her stay with us a focus now shifts to building the relationship and confidence with her owner/rider. This has been a step by step process after an accident occured prior to Fallon coming to us.

The confidence building started with establishing groundwork skills and learning to read Fallons body language.

Next was ensuring the rider was relaxed and confident again with the mounting process - (we used school horse Eleanor in one session)

HSES Bear is proving to be a kind gelding who continues to want to please. He concluded his 3rd week in starting a relaxed ride - walk, stop and flexion.

The groundwork with a focus on above the eye exercises has set Bear up for success in his first ride undersaddle - building a horses confidence is always a big focus at all stages of their education.

This TB gelding has been with us for float training - his owner was having trouble with him - he would become tense and resistive as he would approach the float (including running off fast)

Being an older gelding who has negative association with the float a different approach needed to be taken. We focused on making the flaot a relaxing area - minimal pressure - and heaps of reward.

His improved signficantly in his time with us - a more relaxed manner offering releases around and in the float.

🐎 We welcome back Zazzy - a lovely young stockhorse filly breed by Colliers Park Stud.
(Sire is Secretheart Hitman
Dam is Sevenangle Halo.)

Zazzy had a short break and has returned to have the final stages of her starting undersaddle. She has returned physically stronger allowing for her her to be encouraged to work into feel more along with finding a bettee forward and stop.

🐎 Fallon - clydie x TB 6yr old mare.

Fallons education now focuses on valuable time undersaddle and exposure. She has started hacking out around the farm, being ridden in different arenas, round yard and obstacle area.

Video of her cool down ride up the driveway - exposure to horses on the fence line - traffic on the road ahead and different surfaces.
