…Because Frenchies have big personalities… and approximately zero survival instincts.

Gifted by Pawfit - We’ve been testing the Pawfit 3 with Milo & Poppy, and as Frenchie owners, there are a few features we actually really appreciate.

Are our dogs usually approximately 30cm away from us? Yes.
Do I still like knowing exactly where they are when we’re travelling, adventuring or somewhere unfamiliar? Also yes.

To be completely transparent…We don’t have them wearing GPS trackers 24/7, but it’s become one of those rather have it and not need it things.

The app is really easy to use, it’s not overly bulky, and the up to 8-day battery means I’m not constantly charging it. It also has tracker removal alerts and extreme temperature alerts, and if you own a Frenchie, you already know we take anything temperature-related pretty seriously.

Then there’s the remote voice command. You can literally record your own voice and play it through their tracker. That’s pretty rad!

A fantastic feature… assuming your Frenchie acknowledges that they have ears (IYKYK).

Overall, it’s simple, genuinely useful and gives us a little extra peace of mind when we’re out with our two potatoes.

🦷 Frenchies are adorable… but let’s be honest, their teeth and breath can be a bit high maintenance. 💅🏼

Those cute squishy faces and often crowded teeth make plaque and tartar much easier to build up, so we’ve always been big believers in prevention over playing catch-up. IYKYK.

Happy Birthday to our sweet boy, Milo

Where do I even begin? Your golden eyes that somehow say a thousand things without making a single sound. The tiny freckles scattered across your ears that I’ve memorised over the years. That chocolate snoot I kiss far too many times a day. The way you wade into the water as if you’re setting off on an important fishing expedition. And the way you always seem to know when I need you close.

You’re stubborn, sensitive, funny, dramatic, intelligent, and completely one of a kind.

You’ve taught us more about patience, understanding, and unconditional love than you’ll ever know. You’ve been my shadow through some of life’s biggest moments, my adventure buddy, my constant companion, and, without question, my soul dog.

I love your quirks. I love your attitude. I love the way you make people laugh. I even love the traits that make you a little difficult sometimes, because they’re all part of what makes you you.

There will never be enough photos, enough adventures, or enough years with you.

Happy Birthday to the boy who changed our life forever, our golden-eyed, sun loving, angel boy. My goodness how bland life would be without you in it. We love you more than words could ever explain.

I think I like when it rains…

Take me back to our days spent at La Belle Vallee, this time last year. Rainy mornings, muddy boots, a roaring fire, sleepy Frenchies and the kind of quiet you only seem to find in the countryside.

Funny how 12 months later, the weather feels exactly the same - grey skies, the sound of rain and slower mornings.

And honestly? I’m not mad about it.

There’s something about the rain that slows everything down. Makes the world feel softer. Quieter. Like you’re allowed to pause for a second and just exist in the moment.

Not every good memory needs sunshine 🌞

Let’s talk, Raw/ Fresh diets…

‘Raw and fresh feeding’ has become one of the most controversial topics in the dog world… and honestly, we get why. Somewhere between ultra-processed kibble, flashy marketing, fear campaigns and perfectly curated bowls, people forgot the point: Feeding the dog in front of you.

For us, fresh feeding has never been about trends or aesthetics. It’s about ingredient quality, variety, hydration, gut health and giving our dogs food that actually looks like food. Milo and Poppy have been fed fresh/raw for a long time now, and while we’re not here to scream “kibble is poison” from the rooftops, we are big believers in asking questions about what goes into our dogs’ bowls.

That said… Raw feeding also isn’t some magical cure-all. A badly balanced raw diet can do just as much harm as a poor-quality processed one. There’s a huge difference between feeding fresh thoughtfully… and throwing together an Instagram-worthy bowl with zero nutritional balance behind it.

The best dog owners, in our opinion, aren’t the loudest or most extreme ones. They’re the people willing to learn, adapt, research, and do what works best for their dog. Whether that’s raw, fresh, mixed feeding, cooked, or kibble with whole-food additions.

At the end of the day, we care less about labels… and more about thriving dogs. Healthy. Better digestion. Less inflammation. Good stools. Healthy skin. Happy lives.

And honestly? Frenchies tend to humble you pretty quickly when something in the diet isn’t working 😅
