🐾 A question I’m asked all the time…

“Is there a lifting harness I can leave on my dog, so I can help them up when they need me?”

It’s a great question — and the answer isn't quite as simple as you might think!

Most rear-only lifting harnesses need to be put on when assistance is required. But the Help ’Em Up Harness is designed differently, with front and rear support that can remain fitted during the day.

💜 So, is it right for every dog? No.

But for some dogs who need regular assistance getting up, it can make everyday life so much easier.

🎉 **Coming Soon to HandicappedPets Australia & Pets Need A Life Too!**

I’m very excited to announce that I’ll soon be stocking the **Help ’Em Up Harness** in Australia! 🐾

The Help ’Em Up is a full-body lifting harness designed to help people safely support and assist dogs who have difficulty standing, walking, getting up, using stairs, or getting in and out of the car.

I’ve been wanting to add this harness to my range for some time, and I’m particularly pleased to now be able to offer it alongside the other mobility products I provide to pet owners, veterinary practices, rehabilitation professionals and other pet health professionals.

With my background as a veterinary nurse and my ongoing work with animals with mobility challenges, I know how important it can be to have the **right support product for the individual animal — and to have someone available to help with choosing, fitting and using it properly.**

The Help ’Em Up will be available through my website soon, with more information coming shortly.

If you’re a pet owner, veterinary professional, rehabilitation professional or another pet health professional and would like to know more in the meantime, please feel free to get in touch.

VALE Charlie 💔
Some patients stay with you long after their journey ends. Charlie was one of them.
I first met him after he had been unable to walk for six weeks following trauma to his rear paws. His family chose to fight for his quality of life — and fight they did. With custom prosthetics for his back legs and a wheelchair to keep him mobile, Charlie rediscovered movement. More than that, he rediscovered joy.
His photo now graces my business postcard. Even in a still image, his joie de vivre is unmistakable — that bright, determined spark that came through in every update his family shared. The videos they sent of him exploring, playing, and simply living were pure gifts.
To Charlie’s family: I know the house feels emptier today. Please know how deeply he was loved — not only by you, but by everyone who had the privilege of watching him thrive. He left an imprint that will not fade.
Rest easy, beautiful boy. It was an honour.

Yesterday I received the most heart-warming message with a video from one of our regulars — Campa, a beautiful boy 🐕💛
I won’t lie… by the end of the video I was crying my eyes out. A lump in my throat, tears streaming down my face — I was an absolute mess.
Watching Campa happily enjoying life in his wheelchair was the most wonderful reminder of why I keep doing what I do, even through the tough economic times.
Thank you Campa for sharing your joy with us. You melted my heart completely ❤️
Moments like this are why we’re so passionate about helping animals live their best lives.

🌟 Meet Sunshine – Our Tiny Goat Superstar! 🐐💛
Today we had the absolute pleasure of meeting the cutest bundle of joy at Furever Farm near Monarto — Sunshine, a 4-month-old goat who is pure gorgeousness personified!
Born as a twin with “joint ill” that went untreated, Sunshine faced a tough start while her healthy sibling thrived. Thanks to the incredible team at Furever Farm who stepped in to fight for her quality of life, this little fighter now has a bright future ahead.
Her condition has left her with arthritis in her front legs, but she’s determined to keep going. With the help of the Walkin’ Pets full support wheelchair we supplied, Sunshine can now move freely and just… goat! 🐐✨
We all cheered when we saw her take those first joyful steps in her new wheels — it was pure magic! (See video in comments)
Thank you to Furever Farm for the beautiful work you do, and congratulations Sunshine on your new-found freedom!

🐾 A Little Send-Off for Banjo

Over the past little while, Banjo has been staying with me for an intensive rehabilitation program — and what a journey it has been. His determination, heart, and willingness to keep trying every single day have made him such a special patient to work with.

Today we added a new set of wheels to help turbo charge his wheelchair sessions. Using Maximus Skates allows his paws to be supported while still encouraging natural leg movement, helping build confidence and promote more active stepping during therapy.

Tomorrow Banjo heads back home to his very dedicated owner, and while this chapter of his rehab finishes here, his journey is far from over. It has been an absolute privilege to be part of his progress and to watch his personality shine through every challenge 💛

Safe travels home, Banjo — keep moving forward, one step at a time.
