We're here to share some tips to ensure people and pooches alike can enjoy the festivities safely!

✨Keep pets indoors - loud pops and bangs can be very stressful for pets, especially when they don't know where they're coming from. Keeping dogs and cats indoors during the fireworks ensures they don't get lost and a familiar environment can ease anxiety.

✨Provide a safe and quiet space - a quiet room, carrier or crate can be great for this, throw in some blankets, toys and treats to help with anxious pets.

✨Distractions - calming music, puzzle toys or their favorite food are all great tools to keep your pet's mind away from the loud noises and have some fun instead.

✨Microchip and ID pets - ensuring your pets microchip details are up to date are vital to ensuring their safety, especially if they were to get lost. Microchipping is specifically great as it doesn't rely on name tags which can get easily lost or chewed off, especially in high stress environments.

✨Walk your dog earlier in the day - whilst night time walks can be great for keeping cool here in Queensland, some pets may be easily frightened or startled in they are outside when the firework displays begin. This also allows for the chance to tire your pup out before the displays even begin.
