DID YOU SEE THE BUNNY ON THE FERRY?
Foster bunny by day… movie critic by night.

Our amazing volunteer ⭐️Foster Carer Steve Parry took foster bunny Mr Snufflesnout on a little adventure this week — a ferry ride to see The Mandalorian movie!

Apparently Mr Snufflesnout was completely fascinated by the boats and sparkling water, spending both ferry trips glued to the window watching the world go by. 🌊🚤

But the best part?
Steve says he watched the movie attentively the entire time… and may genuinely believe he’s Grogu. 💚✨

From rescue bunny to ferry passenger to cinema companion — this is the kind of safe, loving socialisation that helps rescue rabbits grow in confidence and trust people again.

At The Rabbit Sanctuary, our foster carers don’t just provide shelter.
They provide friendship, comfort, adventure… and apparently movie nights too. 🐰🍿

Thank you Steve for giving this little bunny such a beautiful experience and so much love.

VIDEO APPLICATION TO BE ADOPTED 🥺

Our foster carer Amelia made this wonderful video to showcase her beautiful foster bunnies, Elba and Azura 💙💚 who have been in foster care for 2 years now 😭

Elba and Azura were found being chased by a fox, and rescued together 🥹 they are a lovely bonded pair, however bonded pairs often take a VERY long time to be adopted!

Most adopters start with one bunny, and then adopt another down the line. But the bonding process can be long and difficult, stressful for humans and the bunnies. A bonded pair like Elba and Azura are the perfect option!

Elba and Azura are located in Sydney but can travel for their furever home 🏡

All our rescue bunnies are desexed, microchipped and vaccinated.

🐰 Apply to adopt Elba and Azura at rabbitsanctuary.com.au/adopt

CAN YOU HELP US? 🥺😭 The Rabbit Sanctuary urgently needs more foster carers, especially in SYDNEY!

Sydney is one of our biggest operational areas, and that comes with A LOT of abandoned rabbits.

Foster carers provide a temporary home for a rescue rabbit, and play a vital part to get them ready for a new forever home. They are the backbone of our rescue operations.

The number of rabbits that are abandoned are growing day by day - unless we get more foster carers, many will face an uncertain fate.

All you need is an indoor area. Equipment can be provided and we run foster carer induction sessions to help you!

Can you help us save them? Please apply on rabbitsanctuary.com.au/foster or HELP US SHARE THIS POST!

Helping us POST ON LOCAL COMMUNITY GROUPS is also an amazing way to help us reach more potential foster carers.

The bunnies thank you for your support! 🐰🫶🏻

Foster Carer Christy with little Bob the day before he left to his forever home 🐰🩵

Hear from Christy:

“If you’re thinking about fostering with the sanctuary, I hope my experience makes your decision easier!
From seeing a post from the Rabbit Sanctuary looking for new foster carers to the next day having our first ever foster bun 🤭 we have loved every minute of it!

Little Bob was our third foster who was so shy to begin with and scared of everything and anyone. With time and patience and the help from our lovely admin team who gave me advice, he slowly built trust and made leaps and bounds! It was such a rewarding thing to witness and reminded me why I foster these beautiful animals.

Letting go is always bitter sweet but knowing you have helped them find their furever home and knowing you can open up your home to another bun in need is so special. I’ve learnt SO much and share stories amongst colleagues, friends and family. These buns have brought so much joy to our household and I can’t wait for the day that we’re able to actually adopt! In the meantime, I’m excited to meet my next foster baby next week.”

We are always in need of more carers. If interested, apply via https://www.rabbitsanctuary.com.au/foster
