Signs of BOAS:

• Exercise & heat intolerance

Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS) affects flat-faced breeds such as Bulldogs, Pugs and French Bulldogs.
BOAS results in breathing difficulties and gastrointestinal disturbances due to their shortened skull structure, oversized tongues and small airways.

Left untreated, BOAS often leads to serious chronic health issues. Patients with BOAS have a significant reduction in their quality of life, and over time often develop irreversible airway collapse.

Signs of BOAS:
Loud breathing or snoring
Sleep apnoea/disturbance
Nasal discharge
Exercise intolerance
Heat intolerance
Heat stroke
Gagging or choking
Regurgitation and vomiting
Aspiration pneumonia

Not all limping is “just a sprain.”

A torn cruciate ligament is one of the most common orthopaedic injuries we see in dogs and it often requires surgical stabilisation, such as a TPLO procedure.

Signs can include persistent limping, difficulty getting up, reluctance to jump, or sitting with the leg out to the side.
If your dog is showing signs of hind limb pain, early assessment is key. The sooner we diagnose the problem, the better the long-term outcome. 🐾
