🐶💙 WELCOME HOME, PUPPY! 🐾

Bringing home a new puppy is an exciting time — but there’s lots to think about during those first few months! 🥰

Here are some of our top tips to help your new best friend get off to a healthy and happy start:

🩺 BOOK THEIR FIRST VET VISIT
A puppy health check is a great opportunity to make sure they’re growing well and discuss vaccinations, parasite prevention, nutrition and desexing.

💉 KEEP VACCINATIONS UP TO DATE
Puppies need a vaccination series to help protect them from preventable diseases. Your vet can create a vaccination schedule for your pup.

🪱 DON’T FORGET PARASITE PREVENTION
Worms, fleas and ticks can cause serious problems in puppies. Ask our team about the right prevention for your puppy.

🥩 FEED A COMPLETE PUPPY DIET
Growing puppies have specific nutritional needs. Choose a balanced puppy food appropriate for their age, size and breed.

🎓 START TRAINING EARLY
Positive reinforcement, consistency and patience are the keys to helping your puppy become a confident and well-mannered adult dog.

🐾 SOCIALISE, SOCIALISE, SOCIALISE!
Safe and positive experiences with people, sounds, handling and other appropriately vaccinated dogs can help build confidence.

🦷 EXPECT SOME CHEWING!
Puppies explore the world with their mouths — and teething can mean plenty of chewing! Provide safe chew toys and redirect unwanted chewing.

❤️ MAKE THE VET A HAPPY PLACE
Treats, cuddles and positive experiences from a young age can help your puppy learn that visiting the vet is nothing to be scared of!

✨ Most importantly… enjoy the puppy days!
They grow up far too quickly. Capture the chaos, enjoy the cuddles and make plenty of memories along the way! 🐶💕

Community service announcement -

‼️ATTENTION IMPORTANT UPDATE ‼️

Due to the widespread biosecurity concerns and restrictions surrounding H5N1 Avian Influenza (Bird Flu) currently affecting Victoria, The Lancefield Agricultural Society have made the decision to cancel the Poultry Section at the 2026 Lancefield Show.

The decision has been made to prioritise the health and safety of birds and their owners, along with maintaining the long-term security of local flocks and the wider farming community.

We look forward to welcoming poultry back next year, in the meanwhile we hope you and your birds are remaining safe.

🐱💚 WELCOME HOME, KITTEN! 🐾

Bringing home a new kitten is such an exciting time! 😻 But those first few months are also an important time for setting your kitten up for a happy, healthy life.

Here are a few tips for your new furry family member:

🩺 Book their first vet visit
A health check gives us a chance to make sure your kitten is growing well and discuss their vaccination, parasite prevention and desexing plan.

💉 Keep vaccinations up to date
Kittens need a series of vaccinations to help protect them from preventable diseases.

🪱 Stay on top of parasite prevention
Worms and fleas can cause problems for young kittens, so ask us about the best prevention for your kitten.

🥩 Feed a complete kitten diet
Growing kittens have different nutritional needs to adult cats. Choose a good-quality, complete kitten food and follow feeding recommendations.

🏠 Create a safe space
Give your kitten somewhere quiet to settle in, with food, water, a litter tray, comfortable bedding and plenty of places to hide.

🧶 LOTS of play & enrichment!
Kittens are naturally curious and playful. Toys, scratching posts, climbing spaces and interactive play help keep their bodies and brains busy.

❤️ Make vet visits positive
Treats, cuddles and gentle handling can help your kitten learn that visiting the vet doesn't have to be scary!

✨ Most importantly… enjoy them!
They grow up far too quickly! Take plenty of photos, enjoy the zoomies and cherish those tiny kitten moments!!
