It’s on again! We are pleased to announce that we are hosting another EQUINE GASTROSCOPE DAY on Wednesday the 24th of June 2026.

Is YOUR horse showing symptoms of gastric ulcers? Are you concerned ulcers may affecting your horse's health and performance?

If you answered yes to any of these questions then you may be glad to know we are hosting another equine gastroscope day. The aim is to assess the gastric health of your horse via a small camera passed down into the stomach (and provide sound advice on treatment should your horse need it).

Studies have shown that approximately 70% of ridden performance horses suffer from gastric ulcers.

The date - 24th of June
The location - Roma Veterinary Clinic
The cost - $99 per horse (a heavily discounted price - to cover sedation only - the scope procedure is FREE!)

The particulars
- by APPOINTMENT ONLY
- all horses need to be fasted for 12 hours (both food and water!)
- all horses will need to be sedated

We spotted this little guy doing the bloodstream boogie this week in the clinic. Guess who? ❤️🪱

We’ve recently seen a rise in cases of heartworm disease in dogs across our region. Heartworm is spread by mosquitoes and only takes one bite from an infected mosquito to pass the parasite on to your dog.

Over time, the worms live in the heart and lungs, causing serious damage. Signs can include coughing, reduced energy, trouble exercising, weight loss and difficulty breathing — though some dogs show no signs until the disease is advanced ☹️

The good news is heartworm disease is preventable and treatable! If you’re unsure whether your dog is up to date, or are worried they may be showing signs of heartworm disease, please contact the clinic to discuss the best options for your pet 🐾
