Let’s talk about routine dental cleaning! 🦷
Your vet may have recommended your pet come in for a dental procedure, what exactly does this involve?
• Full dental examination under general anaesthesia { probing, dental charting and optional, but recommended, full mouth x-rays, }
- a thorough examination will show things like bone loss, infection, fractures and gum recession, helping your vet to find teeth requiring extraction
• Professional scale and polish { cleaning under the gum line cannot be done without anaesthesia and this is where the majority of bacteria grows }
These photos are from a grade 4 dental the team completed recently, an advanced case of dental disease. Routine dental cleanings are an excellent and proactive approach to maintaining dental hygiene and keep your pets happy and healthy.
