🐶 Has your dog attacked another dog?

You're probably feeling shocked, guilty and wondering what to do next.

One incident doesn't automatically mean your dog is "aggressive" or "dangerous."

In many cases, there are underlying reasons for the behaviour, and understanding the why is the first step towards preventing it from happening again. Every dog is an individual, and behaviour is communication.

In our latest blog, we discuss:
🐾 What to do immediately after a dog attack
🐾 Common reasons dogs attack other dogs
🐾 Mistakes to avoid
🐾 When it's time to seek professional help
🐾 How a behaviour assessment can help identify the underlying cause

If you're dealing with dog aggression or reactivity, please know you're not alone—and there are kind, evidence-based ways to help your dog.

Understanding changes in your pet’s quality of life
Some pet owners reach a stage where changes in their pet’s comfort, behaviour, or daily routines start to feel harder to interpret, especially if a vet or another trusted pet professional has raised concerns.

A former veterinary nurse is gathering feedback from pet owners who may be navigating this stage, to better understand what support would be most helpful when decisions begin to feel uncertain.

If this sounds like something you’re experiencing, you’re warmly invited to share your experience here:

Your responses will help shape future support for pet owners facing these decisions.

Thinking about changes in a pet’s quality of life can feel heavy and uncertain. A former veterinary nurse is working on creating better support for pet owners during this stage and is collecting feedback from people who have previously experienced or are currently going through it. We’ve absolutely loved spending time with Benson and Jess — two beautiful senior Beagles who’ve completely stolen our hearts 💕🐶

While their owner is away, we’re making sure they have everything they need — from their daily medications and gentle walks to extra cuddles and belly rubs. These two know how to enjoy the quiet life, and it’s such a privilege to care for them.

If you’re heading away over the holidays and need someone you can truly trust to care for your pets as if they were our own, we still have *limited availability* left this season.

Meet Louis, the Irish Wolfhound cross with a big heart and some big feelings about the pool.

Today’s session was all about helping Louis feel safer and more in control around the water, using gentle, force-free training and going at his pace. We focused on:
• Building positive associations with the pool from a comfortable distance
• Letting Louis pick the pace, so he never felt overwhelmed
• Using rewards, calm body language, and short sessions to keep his anxiety low.

Pool anxiety is really common and it’s not about being “naughty” – it’s a fear response, and with the right support dogs can learn to feel much more relaxed and confident. If your dog struggles with water, noise, or new environments, positive, tailored training can make a huge difference.

So proud of Louis for his bravery today – he did such a beautiful job checking in with his humans and taking each step when he was ready.

Fur Get Me Not – helping anxious and sensitive dogs feel safe, understood, and supported.
