•How did you get into the sport?
Ever since I was a little girl I always wanted to Barrel Race, I have rode horses my whole life I competed at pony club where I was younger and in 2012 my Mum and Dad took me to my first Barrel Racing competition and I fell in love with it and have never looked back.
•Do any other members in your family rodeo?
My Brother Ropes, my Sister Barrel Races and my Dad use to campdraft and ride saddle bronc horses.
•Tell us about your sponsors. How you picked them up and why you’re willing to represent their products.
I am sponsored by Majik Equine Powders and Hidez
Majik Equine Powders is a wide range of supplements that can help your equine partners in many different ways from helping their joints to their breathing.
Hidez is a great product to be used for pre warm up before competition and used after competition for cooling down and for travelling or used for injuries, they offer a variety of different products including hoods, ice socks and suits.
After years of using Majik and Hidez I was offered to represent their products.
I love representing these products because they help keep my horses performing and looking their absolute best.
•What have you been doing during Covid?
I have been working horses and roping with my brother.
•How do you bring a horse back in, ready for competition?
I bring my horses back in to work by taking them on long trots and slowly increasing their work as they return to fitness.

Yes I think it plays a huge role, your attitude makes you who you are through winning and losing and the way you handle yourself in and out of the arena.

More powerful than the will to win is the courage to begin

•Do you have favorite song you listen to prior to competing?
No
•What is your favorite western/cowboy movie?

•What is the one thing you always do after a good performance?
I like to keep my routine the same after any time I compete whether it’s good or bad
I always walk my horses after they compete until their breathing slows down followed by unbooting and loosing my girth then go back to the trailer untack and hose down I always do my horses legs first and then the rest of their body, then I put their Hidez suits on them. We have to remember a horse doesn’t know how big or what each event you compete has to offer, all they know is that every time they walk into the arena they try their best, they don’t know what a knocked drum or an unbroken pattern means, what I’m trying to say is that no matter what happens you reward your horse because I know myself without my horses I would not be the person I am today or be where I am today and have the experiences and opportunities that they have given me over the years I have had them, so the least I can do is be proud no matter what happens in the arena.
Someone once told me what happens in the arena stays in the arena 🥰
•What do you do to calm your butterflies before you compete?
Stay to myself
•Any superstitions, quirks or routines?
I never eat before I compete
I like to start getting my horse saddled an hour before I compete on them and warm up roughly thirty minutes before I compete and then I just keep there muscles warm by walking them around
