🌟JDL SUGAR N SPICE🌟

2016 | 13.3hh - 140cm | Registered Welsh | section C | Mare

Sire: ABERGAVENNY ACHILLES (IMP UK)
Dam: BURROWA CAPRICORN'S GEM

Breeding, looks and performance. Don’t let her size deter you, she is very stocky with plenty of chunk.

Sugar is the been there done that pony that has all the attributes that appear in your WTB ads. A dream pony 😍

Sugar is a sensible, level headed, competitive pony. She loves her people, loves it being all about her and loves her snacks.

This pony is that perfect allrounder!
🔹Pony club
🔹Mounted games- Sporting
🔹Jumping 60cm confidently, has done up to 80cm in training.
🔹Eventing - Grade C
🔹Working equitation
🔹Extreme obstacles

Sugar is forward but comfortably ridden on a loose rein and halter. Attuned to the life of competition and weekend outings but is just as happy going for a trail ride or relaxed ride around your property.

I find sugar incredibly patient and very good at adjusting to whom ever is on her no matter the environment.

Although you get the very best out of her in consistent work, she can be easily left for long periods and pulled out ready to work.

She is only marey in the paddock at feed time if she is sharing a paddock and if the other horses are annoying her.
When Sugar is out with her people she is always on her best behaviour.

Sugar has been shared between a mother and teenage daughter.

🦄Would be suited to a pony club home, confident kid needing that next step up, would be a great asset to the all horsey farm family or small adult after an easy no fuss mount for adult riding club and trail riding.

Just not YET suited as a first pony as she has always been ridden by educated riders.

Sugar comes with some of her gear:
Bridle, saddle blanket, rope halter, rugs.

Saddle is not included however the Option to purchase her Dressage saddle separately.

‼️This beautiful girl is still waiting for her ideal 🏠‼️

On behalf of client :

🌟SKITTLE PARK SILVER SENSATION🌟

Gypsy Cob x Clydie | Mare | 14.3hh | 2017

Dual Registrations-
🔹Gypsy cob stud book
🔹Clydesdale cross sport horse Association.

🔸Eligible for Drum horse registration

🟣*Rumneyhill Shokora* X *Skittle park sky’s the limit*.

Eye catching, striking colour, quality breeding and willing attitude.
Black- silver dappled in summer.
A lovely brown in winter with her white mane and tail.

Aurora is a sensible but sensitive mare.
Absolutely beautiful personality that tries her hardest at everything you set her at.

Loads on a float and truck without fuss and travels well. Works fuss free both alone and with others.

She is seeking a kind, patient but confident person who enjoys building a partnership through consistent groundwork to bring out the very best in this girl. Although you can just get on from the paddock.

Aurora has 3 lovely paces, basic laterals, a nice soft stop. Moves with your seat, with simple leg aids.
I find her more on the woah side.

Enjoys a relaxed trail ride, has done both with groups and on her own.

Aurora is a great all rounder suitable for adult riding club, showing, dressage, obstacle challenges and anything you are willing to put the consistency in.

The sensitive side of Aurora just requires a kind person that will listen rather than ignore and drive forward.
She can be looky at new things, and just needs you to give her a few extra seconds to process.

I ride her in a snaffle bit without the nose bands and find her far happier! Aurora will work very much off the feel of where the rider sets them selves in both hands and posture.
I was asked if I would let my mum ride her, the answer is yes. Whom has in fact taken her out for a quiet trail. Mum is an educated rider but now gets a little nervous as only rides a few times a year.

Price is negotiable to a suitable home, owner is motivated to find her new person.
She is a horse you need to meet in person to really get the full picture and take in her lovely Aurora as is her name.

🌟LWR DUN HOT IN DOTS 🌟

Q-99258 | 3-12-2021 | 15.2hh | gelding

Koda is a stunning boy and he certainly knows it. A very sweet boy!!
A gelding that’s ready for someone to start developing a suitable consistent show mount with a big future in the right hands.
Koda has 3 established balanced paces.
Basic laterals, back ups, turns.

Koda is kind, sensitive and tries his very best, with a very curious and smart brain - more woah then go. Very sociable and does much better with friends in the paddock then on his own But no separation issues.

Koda has his quirks with some anxiety and relies off his person for confidence but he is young, green and just hasn’t had the consistency to keep him moving forward. He needs an experienced home to continue his training and willing to keep putting the time.

This guy has so much potential and when his mind is on the job he really does work so hard.
When we take Koda out around the property and trails he genuinely loves it.
I find him a very easy going boy in work. When out of work it is advised to do some ground work to get his head in the game.

Koda has attended small shows at halter and ranch along with small clinics.

A very good doer, maintains shine all year round on just quality hay and grass.
We have found Koda does better on low sugar feeds and pasture in regards to his behaviour- temperament.

His owner has made the hard decision to move him on due to rider and horse clashing and not being able to give him that consistency that he needs.
So the home is most important as Koda has been with his owner since a yearling.

💰POA low teens.

Hold that wormer!!!
FECC is recommending putting down the wormer and waiting until late autumn/early winter. In the past we have recommended waiting for the "first frost" we do this because it's an easy visible reminder for horses owners in our part of Australia.
BUT..... we need to wait for consistent cooler nights of zero or below, I know in my region we have had some light frosts but overall nighttime temps are not low enough yet or consistent for worming to start so put down the wormer!!!
Why wait? Because we are trying to target as many parasites as possible for this worming treatment. The parasites listed below are the main targets, but we are also treating parasites not listed.
Bot Flys. We are trying to break the bot fly lifecycle which will lead to a reduction of the adult bot fly population. So, we wait until the entire bot fly population is inside your horse - no longer flying/laying eggs on coat, and they are in the correct place in the gut to be susceptible to the wormer.
Tapeworms should be treated for once a year and waiting till late autumn/ early winter is the lifecycle stage they will susceptible to the worming treatment.
Encysted Strongyles - if present will begin emerging slowly at this time of year and this is preferable. If you worm too early you may trigger a mass emergence which may lead to medical complications.
If you are in warmer areas, northern Australia, tropical areas that dont experience the cooler temps - feel free to message us for advice on what to do in this situation.

About Burrito:
He is a big teddy bear that loves to please. He loves attention, snuggles and snacks!
Would love to live in your house.
Has a yes sir attitude, pull out an go straight from paddock but does thrive off some slow ground work, gentleman to handle.
All very comfortable paces, just a quick stepped canter. Very good brakes!

Likes a clear rider, I find he works off his person.
If you have a very hot seat he will go! But if you are a rider that struggles to get horses moving he will plod.
A novice rider will have no issues with this guy, just not a rider that can get super nervous.

Definitely a horse that does better in a cow arena or trail riding then if your looking for that pretty flat work horse.

Floats and trucks with no drama on straight and angle.

Loves friends in the paddock but doesn’t care if you take him away or take them away.

🔹Lightly campdrafted
🔸Done station work - mustering.
🔹Trail riding - loves it!
🔸Clinics

What burrito is looking for:
A forever home that will give him plenty of TLC and treat him like a king.
A person that wants a really cool, fun gelding to go on many adventures.
A home he will live in a paddock with other horses.
He loves kids, has no issues with dogs hanging around.
The right person to allow more then one veiwing before making any decisions.

FYI
Burrito came here to solve some training blocks and find a suitable home when he was ready, he has been here since last year and has been put up and taken down as we have slowly been unraveling this sweet boy!
Previously he would get some tension through his body and freeze/ hesitate with mounting, struggle to back up, feel a little unsure if the rider was too hesitant with aids.
With time and some mechanical readjustments and new patterning through his body, I find him very quiet and so much fun and willing to pull out and ride.
We have just not found a suitable match yet!

Laying down -

I feel like this is becoming quite the controversial topic of training.
Do we….. Don’t we… are we doing it for our pleasure….. or does it help them become better horses.

These are all questions we should definitely be asking.

Let’s start with the key points of why we do it:
🔹To help with training
🔹For a trick
🔹Connecting with your horse
🔹Become an internet sensation

Here’s my personal view, now before the Karen’s get on here and air their personal opinion on my point of view. I would like to say I will never put down or critique someone else’s view on training, their methods or opinion. We do what we know and we can only improve through experience and education. We are always learning and always have to improve on our own knowledge.

This is what I have learnt so far….

Once upon a time I was taught to lay horses down during the breaking in process, that is was essential to have that submission especially on the feisty ones. This helped to build a broke horse. Well that’s how I see it a broken horse, shut down, it’s our way of skipping many steps, being lazy. To me this has nothing to do with a foundation or building a sound minded horse, just taking away their ability to process correctly and shut down their natural instincts.

Then we moved to laying them down just for fun, with a rope, because we want to teach a cool trick, playing the waiting game of once again submission.

Now yes I will still teach a horse to lay down, but only when they are ready. And only my own horse that I know totally trusts me through all the building blocks I have instilled to them. Along with teaching them to process thoughts in stressful environments, how to release all tension whilst still being completely alert!
Does that mean once they know how to do a cue do I expect them to do it all the time in any environment I choose. Not a chance!

Have you ever seen your horse having a nap at show on the ground?
But when your at home how often have you walked out to the paddock and your horse has given you a heart attack because they are mid deep dream on the ground flat pancake.
How often have you seen a herd with at least one horse standing up, whilst the rest snooze.

Horses have a natural instinct to run from danger. That is why is most environments they sleep standing up. Only when they are totally comfortable and feel safe and feel at rest will they lay down.

So when we are training a horse and we put them on the ground we are putting them in the most vulnerable position to them. We are asking them to essentially shutdown their natural instincts and put all the trust into us that nothing is going to happen.

This is my perspective if I ask my horse to lay down. I only expect them to do so because they are completely relaxed in the environment. How do I recognise this; Through reading them, expressions, eyes, ears, face and body.

So here’s my conclusion, I will never make a horse lay down based on a training problem we are having because I’m not communicating clear enough. If I teach it as a trick, no rope is involved. And if I ask them on cue, it is my responsibility for what follows whether that’s a negative event or the most amazing experience.
