🌊🐾 Planning a beach walk with your furry friend?
As we keep a close watch on H5 bird flu, there are a few simple things pet owners can do to help protect their pets and our local wildlife.
🐕‍🦺 Keep your dog on a lead or under close control.
✅ Stay well away from sick, injured or dead birds and wildlife.
🙅‍♂️ Avoid areas where large numbers of birds are gathering.
🚫 Skip feeding wild birds as it encourages them to cluster.
🐈 Keep cats indoors or safely within your yard.

If you come across sick or dead wildlife, avoid contact, record the location and report it to the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline on 1800 675 888. By taking a few extra precautions, we can all help keep our beaches, pets and wildlife safe.

The Animal Care Truck is heading to Primbee, Wollongong!

On Friday 21 August, AWL NSW will be at Albert Butler Park offering free veterinary services for pet owners in the Wollongong LGA.

This visit is targeted towards low-income earners, pensioners, and those experiencing financial hardship, helping more pets receive the essential care they need.

Free services available:
- Pet health checks
- Microchipping
- Dog C3 vaccinations
- Cat F3 vaccinations

📍Albert Bulter Park, 137 Primbee Deviation Rd, Primbee (Enter off Shellharbour Rd)
🗓️ Friday 21 August
🕘 9am to 2pm
🐾 Cats must be in carriers and dogs must be leashed. Maximum of 3 pets per household.

Please dress appropriately for weather as waiting times may be long. We look forward to supporting the community and their pets!
