'Itsa Shamrock Golden Syrup

03-08-2002 to 07-09-2026

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share today the heartbreaking news of the passing of "Bundy" our affectionately named and most deeply loved foundation Connemara stallion here at Clare Downs.

Bundy came to us in all his mischievous glory at the spritely age of one, and has remained with us ever since. We have had the utmost pleasure of having his little face and his antics on our farm for the best part of 24 years. Bundy was family, in every sense of the word, and he was loved in the deepest way here at Clare Downs, and his loss will be felt around the stud forevermore.

He will forever be known as the biggest personality, in the most compact and robust of statures, and his playful, affectionate, and hilarious antics will be dearly missed by all.

Thank you to 'Itsa Shamrock stud for entrusting us with him all those years ago, and an enormous thank you to everyone who has known, loved, cared for, and worked with Bundy throughout his many years here with us as our breeding stallion, competition horse, and family member...for now he goes peacefully into a well earnt rest, while we all take some time to appreciate the incredible little man who started it all xx

Our beautiful first Sweet Gold x Snippetson filly had a grand entrance to the world this morning, greeted by some new adoring fans!

My husband Norm and 2 of his close friends lease our homebred Sax On Que from the stud - such an honest horse kind horse has been a bridesmaid since his last win by a whisker and a couple of 3rds and became a bride again today - Smiles all round! Thank you to Paul and his team and Holly for bringing him home.

So great to get a winner with one of our stable favourites Sax on Que today at Mount Barker, thanks to his loyal owners and jockey Holly Watson. Also very proud of Scream in Blue who ran a huge second in the Mount Barker cup coming from last on the corner. Big thanks to the girls at home who do all the work 🐎

All in all a very successful 2022 Perth Magic Millions Sale, with Lot 309 and our last lot for this years sale, our beautiful filly, going to Robyn Lockwood to start her new career. We are very pleased with the outcome and the homes for this years sale and look forward to watching as they both progress through this next phase of their lives!

A huge thank you to all who have made this years sales possible and for all who helped; with a special mention to TJ who has been an invaluable and integral part of their preparation, and to Isobel who has worked tirelessly throughout the entirety of their sales week.

From all of us here at Clare Downs, a big thank you to all the buyers, agents, MM, vets, and staff for another successful season. Now bring on the next seasons crop of cracking youngsters!
