At Golden Gem Birds, our animals are at the absolute heart of what we do. Lately, we’ve had a few questions about where our responsibility ends and a buyer’s responsibility begins once an animal leaves our store, so we wanted to share our approach with our community. 🌟

Before any animal goes to a new home, our team does our best to chat with families, answer questions, and share care requirements. However, we are retail staff, not mind readers or behavioral experts. We cannot predict what a home environment will look like once an animal leaves our doors. 🏡

Because of this, we will be utilising a Hand Raised Bird Purchase Agreement.
When a customer purchases a hand raised bird from us, they sign to agree that:
✅ They are providing a safe, suitable environment for that specific animal.
✅ They take full responsibility for supervising all interactions between the animal and minors or other household pets.

Just like bringing a new baby or a puppy home, a bird requires patience, a calm environment, and strict adult boundaries to settle in safely. Loud noises and rough handling terrorise animals, and preventing that is entirely up to the adults in the home.

If a family ever finds themselves overwhelmed or realizes they cannot provide the calm environment an animal needs, our door is always open to discuss options to safely surrender the animal back to us. Our priority will always be the welfare of the animal. 🦜❤️

Thank you to our wonderful community for your ongoing support and for helping us give these animals the loving, safe homes they deserve!

6 Beautiful Hand Raised Rose Crowned Conures Currently Available!

While currently they have a black head, they are slowly starting to turn into bright ‘rose’ colour.

These little ones are amazing at putting a smile on your face!
Whether they are hanging upside down off their toy, running around with a bottle cap hanging out of their beak and wondering why they can’t hold it and climb at the same time or even just chilling on you for cuddles, these guys are awesome!

Come in and see us about them today!
