🐾 **A little love goes a long way… but so can a few extra treats! ❤️**

Did you know that diabetes affects both cats and dogs in Australia? Research found that around **1 in 280 dogs and 1 in 200 cats** attending vet clinics in Australia had diabetes. 🐶🐱

We all love to spoil our pets with tasty treats, extra snacks and little bits from our plates — it's one of the ways we show them we care! 🥰 But too many calories can lead to weight gain, and being overweight increases the risk of diabetes, particularly in cats.

💕 The best kind of love is helping them live a longer, healthier life. Try healthy treats, watch portion sizes and keep those tails wagging with regular play and exercise.

Worried about your pet's weight, or noticed they're drinking or urinating more than usual? Chat with our friendly team — we're here to help! 🩺 5549 0624

🐾💙 Happy Vet Nurse Week! 💙🐾

This week, we celebrate the incredible veterinary nurses who are there through it all — the cuddles, the chaos, the late nights, the difficult moments and the happy endings. 🩺🐶🐱

Vet nurses are the heart of every veterinary team. From comforting nervous patients and caring for hospitalised animals to assisting with procedures, supporting clients and keeping everything running behind the scenes, their dedication and compassion make an enormous difference every single day.

Thank you for the patience, skill, and endless love you give to animals and their families. Your work matters more than you know. 💕🐾

Happy Vet Nurse Week to all the amazing vet nurses — you are truly appreciated! 🌟

🐾 TITRE TESTING 🐾

Did you know there is a way to check whether your dog has antibodies against certain diseases?

A titre test is a blood test that measures antibodies produced by your pet’s immune system following vaccination or previous exposure to a disease.

🔬 What can a titre test tell us?
It can provide an indication of whether your pet has enough protective antibodies against certain diseases, such as Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper Virus and Canine Hepatits.

🐶 Why might you consider a titre test?
• To assess immunity in an adult dog
• For dogs where vaccination may need to be carefully considered
• To help guide vaccination discussions with your veterinarian
• To check antibody levels following previous vaccination

⚠️ Titre testing isn't suitable for every situation.
A titre result does not provide a complete picture of your pet’s immune system, and it does not replace the need for vaccination in every pet or situation.

💡 The best vaccination plan is individual to your pet and depends on factors such as age, lifestyle, previous vaccinations and risk of exposure.

🐾 Want to know if titre testing is right for your pet?
Speak with our veterinary team — we're happy to discuss your pet's individual vaccination needs.

🐾 Shout out to Sultan, our superstar patient! 🐾

Meet Sultan, a beautiful 12-year-old Rottweiler who has been seeing Dr. Avinder for electro-acupuncture to help manage his severe arthritis.

When Sultan first came to us, his arthritis had progressed to the point where he could barely stand. While traditional pain medication provided some relief, it wasn't enough. After just three electro-acupuncture treatments, his improvement has been remarkable!

Here's what his dad, Glen, had to say:

💙 "To Avinder Pasricha and the staff at Curtis St Vets, I cannot thank you enough.

My nearly 12-year-old Rotti, Sultan (Sulty), has been suffering from severe arthritis—so much so that he could hardly stand, and I feared the worst. Traditional pain medications had helped, but were not enough.

Three treatments of acupuncture with Avinder, and his improvement is truly unbelievable. I now have my best little mate back with me, enjoying his later years.

Thank you so much, Avinder."

Stories like Sultan's remind us how rewarding it is to help our senior pets enjoy a better quality of life. ❤️

If you think your senior companion could benefit from Acupuncture or Electro-Acupuncture, ask our friendly team about our Golden Years Winter Wellness Program.

✨ Special Offer: Receive 2 acupuncture sessions with Dr. Avinder and get your 3rd session FREE!
