❤️🐾 KEEP THEIR HEARTS HEALTHY: LET’S TALK HEARTWORM! 🐾🦟

Heartworm disease is a serious condition that every pet owner should know about. Unlike intestinal worms, heartworms are spread through mosquito bites and can affect the heart and lungs.
Because mosquitoes can be active throughout the year, regular prevention is an important part of keeping your pet protected.

🐶 DOGS
Ask our team about ProHeart SR12, a convenient once a year injection that provides 12 months of heartworm protection. It can often be given alongside your pet’s annual vaccination, or at another time that suits.

🐱 CATS
Heartworm disease is less common in cats, but that doesn’t mean they are completely safe. Cats can also be affected by heartworm, so it’s important to speak with your vet about appropriate prevention.

🦟 Don’t wait until it’s a problem, prevention is the best protection! ✅

📞 Call us on 4677 0188 to discuss heartworm prevention with our team.

A healthy heart means a happier life! ❤️🐾

Dear Clients,

Unfortunately, our SMS appointment reminder system is currently down. This is unfortunately out of our control, and we are working to get the system back up and running as smoothly as possible.

In the meantime, if you believe you have an upcoming appointment with us, please contact the clinic to double-check your appointment date and time, as you may not receive your usual text message reminder.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to resolve the issue.

Thank you,
The team at Wollondilly Animal Hospital 🐾

🐾 🌱GRASS SEED SEASON IS HERE!🐾🌱

As the weather warms up and spring arrives, grass seeds become a common hazard for our pets. 🐶🐱

🌱Grass seeds are small, sharp and easily picked up by curious dogs and cats. They can become trapped in the paws, ears, eyes, nose and skin, where they may work their way deeper into the body and cause painful infections.

👀Keep an eye out for:
• Excessive licking or chewing of the paws
• Redness, swelling or irritation
• Head shaking or scratching at the ears
• Sneezing or nasal discharge
• Squinting or rubbing at the eyes
• Sudden limping

Prevention is key! ✅
After walks or outdoor adventures, check your pet's coat, paws, ears and other areas where grass seeds can easily become caught.
Keeping grass and weeds trimmed around your yard can also help reduce the risk.

🚨If you think your pet may have a grass seed stuck somewhere, don't wait for it to become a bigger problem, contact your veterinarian for advice.

🌷Stay safe this spring and keep those curious noses and paws grass-seed free! 🌷
