Continuing with our team member re-introductions, the second co-founder of Animal Immuno Solutions is Dr Annika Oksa 👩‍⚕️

Annika developed a keen interest in all things oncology in her final year of vet school, and went on to complete an internship in one of Australia's first veterinary specialist centres, The Animal Hospital . It became apparent at that time that tumour pathology was her passion, and she pursued a pathology residency, and sat the Australia and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists Membership examinations, as well as the College of American College of Veterinary Pathologists Board examinations while undertaking PhD research in cancer immunotherapy 🧬💜

When not at work curing cancer Annika loves spending time with her family, baking, and crocheting a menagerie of animals 🧶🦒🦡🦔

We hear the EKKA is in town!

With the Brisbane & beyond region separated into different days for public holidays next week, we have chosen to close on Wednesday 12th August for the main EKKA holiday day. Please be consider your pets’ appointments & medication needs with this clinic closed day in mind.

If you’re heading to the EKKA this year, be sure to go see the dog show where you’ll likely see some of our favourite clients showing their beautiful dogs! Don’t forget your ice-cream sundae too!

Young at heart Dexter arrived at the clinic today wearing his fancy new halo device that helps him safely navigate his way around without bumping into anything. This beautiful boy struggles with his eyesight but he doesn’t let that stop him!

This week we’d like to reintroduce Dr Grace!
Grace joined us a little over a year ago & has been an integral part of our team, working every Tuesday. With most of her professional life spent thus far in busy ER’s located inside Specialist Hospitals, Graces knowledge and skill in all things emergency and complicated is where she really shines.

Grace does have one request when she’s at work on Tuesday’s though. Puppies, lots of them. She can’t get enough puppy kisses! Make sure you ask for Dr Grace if you have a new puppy so her dream of being surrounded by puppies everyday can be made a reality.
