✨🐾 ADELAIDE ROYAL SHOW — DOG GROOMING COMPETITION 🐾✨

And the competition begins! ✂️🐶

The morning kicked off with the Small Class, featuring the Gundog and Asian Fusion classes.

All of our competitors arrived looking bright, excited and ready to take on the challenge! 🌟

But it’s not just about the grooming — we were surrounded by some absolutely beautiful dogs with wonderful temperaments, making the atmosphere even more enjoyable.

So many talented groomers, gorgeous dogs and plenty of passion for the grooming industry all coming together under one roof. ❤️🐾

Good luck to all the competitors — enjoy the experience, have fun and most importantly, give those beautiful dogs the best experience possible! 🐶✨

🐾✨ A Very Special Thank You to Larissa & Her Beautiful Pomeranians ✨🐾

I want to take a moment to recognise someone who has been such an important part of my grooming journey — Larissa Fraser and her beautiful Pomeranian family. 🩷🐾

Larissa has supported me in so many ways throughout my journey to the Sydney grooming competition. She accommodated me with everything I needed to prepare for the competition and, most importantly, trusted me with the incredible opportunity to choose one of her beautiful Pomeranian babies to compete with. 🥹❤️

Having the opportunity to groom and compete with one of her babies was such an honour. These little dogs are not only absolutely beautiful, but they have also taught me so much about the breed, their coats and the importance of treating them with the care and respect they deserve.

But Larissa didn't stop there… she actually came along to Sydney to support me while I competed. 🥰 Having someone there cheering me on and believing in me meant more than I can put into words.

And now, I feel incredibly grateful that Larissa has given me another amazing opportunity — to fly back to Sydney and become her Pomeranian groomer. ✈️🐾❤️

To be trusted with her precious Pomeranians is something I don't take lightly. I am genuinely grateful for the trust, friendship, support and opportunities she has given me.

Larissa , thank you for believing in me, supporting my dreams and allowing me to be part of your beautiful Pomeranian family. ❤️

Sometimes the biggest part of a competition journey isn't just the ribbons or trophies — it's the people, the dogs and the beautiful friendships you make along the way. 🐾✨

✨ SYDNEY AUSGROOM — WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! ✨

Sydney AusGroom was such a new experience for me, and honestly, one of the biggest highlights was meeting so many beautiful people within our grooming community. ❤️

I want to give a very special thank you to Pawla, the owner of Handsome Pooches, and her wonderful team for everything they did to help prepare and maintain my competition dog, Annie, leading up to the big day.

Annie is a gorgeous little Miniature Poodle who did a magnificent job on the competition table for me! 🐩❤️ Together, we were lucky enough to take out 3rd Place, and I am absolutely over the moon with our result! 🥉

But behind every competition dog is a lot of preparation, maintenance, trust and support — and I am incredibly thankful to Pawla for trusting me and allowing me to work with her beautiful little Annie.

Pawla, thank you for welcoming me, trusting me with Annie and being so incredibly supportive. It truly means more than you know. ❤️

And a HUGE thank you to Amanda for putting me in touch with Pawla in the first place. You really were an angel sent from above! 🥹❤️

I feel incredibly lucky to have met such wonderful people through this industry. Sydney was a whole new experience for me, and I came away with not only a placing, but beautiful new connections and friendships.

What a transformation! 🐾 This gorgeous Keeshond came in for a full de-shedding treatment, and the difference speaks for itself.

Double-coated breeds like the Keeshond require regular maintenance to keep their coat and skin healthy. Their coat naturally sheds throughout the year, with heavier seasonal "coat blows." Routine de-shedding helps remove loose undercoat, improves airflow to the skin, reduces matting, and keeps them feeling comfortable. Regular brushing at home, combined with professional grooming every 4–8 weeks, helps maintain the coat without damaging its natural insulation.

One thing we don't do is shave double-coated breeds unless it's medically necessary or advised by a veterinarian. Their double coat helps regulate body temperature, protects them from the sun, and acts as a barrier against the elements. Keeping the coat healthy is far better than removing it.

This handsome boy is always an absolute pleasure to groom. He's full of happiness, and I love seeing him come bouncing into the salon with his tail wagging. Clients like him make every day that little bit brighter. ❤️🐶

Nothing beats a relaxing spa day! 🛁🐾

These two gorgeous Cavoodles (Biggie & Pablo) had the best time enjoying a warm doggy jacuzzi before their groom.

It's not just about being pampered—regular bathing, brushing, and grooming are essential for keeping your dog's skin and coat healthy.

Cavoodles have coats that can mat and knot very quickly if they aren't maintained. Those tangles can become tight against the skin, causing discomfort, pulling, and even hiding skin issues.

Regular brushing at home, combined with routine professional grooming, helps prevent painful matting and keeps your pup looking and feeling their best.

A little maintenance goes a long way. Your dog will be happier, more comfortable, and grooming appointments will be a much more enjoyable experience.
