🌻Spring Reminder !🌻

If you treat your pet for fleas and ticks seasonally, don't forget to restart their prevention.

Flea larvae can remain protected in the environment over winter and become more active as the weather warms up. Warm, sandy and sheltered areas can provide the perfect environment for fleas to thrive!

Time to check your pet's prevention is up to date 🐾

Spring is here, which means warmer days, longer walks and more time outside with our pets. ☀️🐾

But with the change in season comes a few things to keep an eye on, grass seeds, allergies, fleas and ticks can all become more of a problem as the weather warms up.

Dogs have four different types of teeth, and each one has an important job! 🐶

🦷 Incisors – The little front teeth, used for nibbling, grooming and picking things up.

🐺 Canines – Those long, pointed teeth used for gripping and tearing. These teeth have long roots and play a very important role!

🥩 Premolars – Used for chewing and cutting food.

💪 Molars - The large teeth at the back of the mouth, designed for crushing and grinding.

One particularly important tooth is the upper fourth premolar, also known as the carnassial tooth. This is one of the largest teeth in your dog's mouth and does a lot of the hard work when chewing!

These beautiful teeth are from a 3 year old Jack Russell who came in to see us for a dental scale and polish 🐾🦷

Smaller breeds can be particularly prone to dental disease. Their smaller mouths mean their teeth are often crowded closely together, making it easier for plaque and tartar to build up...

Minnie came to see us for a dental! 🦷🐾

She absolutely loved being wrapped up in her blanket whilst she recovered.

A microchip is only as useful as the information attached to it. ❤️

If your pet ever goes missing, the first thing we do is scan their microchip. If your phone number or address is out of date, we may not be able to contact you, even if your pet has been safely found.

Keeping your details updated is important for you and for us. It means that when a lost or injured pet arrives at our clinic, we have the best possible chance of getting them back home to you quickly. 🏡🐶🐱

Have you moved house? Changed your phone number? Or even got a new email address?

If you’ve lost your pet’s microchip paperwork or details, we can look up the microchip company/registry your pet is registered with. There are a few different microchip registries, and you can update your contact details directly with the relevant company.

While we’re unable to update the microchip details on your behalf, we’re more than happy to talk you through the process and help you get everything updated.

💚 A few minutes updating your details could make all the difference if your pet ever gets lost.
