With the weather getting cooler many owners will be choosing to keep their dogs coats a bit longer. While this is a great way to keep your furry friends nice and warm it is important to remember that longer coats also require more maintenance!
Keeping a regular grooming schedule, even over the colder months is a good idea to keep your dogs clean, tidy and healthy 🐕🦺
Here are a few options for grooming in the coming months:
🐾 Full groom with a longer clip- If your dog is clipped short over summer the easiest option is to just change to a slightly longer length clip!
🐾 Tidy up groom- If you are happy with the length of your dogs coat and don’t want any taken off then a tidy up groom is the perfect option.
It includes most of the same services as a full groom but without a full body clip. Trimming around the face, feet, tail and hygiene area to keep your dog neat and tidy is the main focus with this groom.
🐾 Bath and blow dry- If your dog doesn’t require any trimming or clipping a simple bath, blow dry and brush will keep your dog clean and help prevent matting from forming.
It is unfortunately very common to see dogs coming back for grooming when the weather warms up with their coats in bad shape and in need of a complete shave off. This can be incredibly uncomfortable and even painful for the dogs and also comes with extra charges for owners.
If you choose not to have your dog groomed over the cooler months it is super important to do regular brushing and consider bathing at home as well to keep them looking and feeling their best! 🐶✨
