Further to Nat’s post on Snake bite first aid

Snake avoidance is coming to Mandurah.

Snakes are already out, and a dog that finds one in the backyard or on a walk won’t wait for you to step in. This course teaches your dog to recognize a snake and choose to stay away on its own.

Two sessions, one week apart:
Session 1 · Sunday 25 October · 1:00 PM ·

URGENT - VOLUNTEER NEEDED FOR CANTEEN SATUDAY 17TH OCT
Due to unforeseen circumstances, our canteen lady is unable to run the canteen tomorrow night for the Obedience & Rally Trial. Can anyone run the canteen this Saturday night from 4.30pm to approx 9pm?
If you can make toasted sandwiches and coffee, you are an ideal person. No experience needed for square. You will be shown how - very simple.

Snakes are more active it’s important pet owners are aware of these signs. If you see your pet interact with a snake or showing any of these signs head to the vet immediately

🐍 Not every snake bite leaves an obvious mark... but your dog’s behaviour can tell you something is wrong.

Keep an eye out for these warning signs:

🐾 Sudden collapse, even if they seem to bounce back quickly
🐾 Weakness, wobbliness, or trouble walking
🐾 Tremors, shaking, or dilated pupils
🐾 Dark or bloody urine
🐾 Bleeding from the nose, mouth, or bite site

⚠️ Trust your instincts. If you think your dog may have been bitten by a snake, don't wait to "see how they go." Every minute counts.

📞 Contact your nearest emergency vet immediately.

What a huge weekend of showing for Gabmalu Temptation.
The Fremantle Dog Club held 3 Championship Shows this weekend and Lulu cleaned up!
She won Minor in Group at all 3 shows and 1 Minor in Show. Well done Lulu

At the conclusion of the double header show weekend we’ll be going to dinner on Sunday 25th October 6-6.30pm with our judges. If you would like to join us please RSVP by 17th October. We will be going to the Karalee in Como.

Thank you to those members who participated in a Busy Bee today -
The early group spent time picking up debris while walking their dogs.

Later we managed to get the outside chairs and tables cleaned, door frames and doors scrubbed down and the floor vaccuumed.

The free sausage sizzle for workers went off well - so well members asked if they could buy one or 2 or 7. Clare took the $$ and it is all profit to the association as I do not seek reimbursement for the things I bring for members.

Thanks also to those members who have offered to speak with their contacts regarding the bore. Much appreciated.

Hope this week is just wonderful for you all - again many thanks to those who generously donated their time - you are superstars. Working together is a winning combination.
