Despite my best efforts and another long hard stoic fight by my little Trojan , it just wasn’t to be.
I tried so so hard to save him again & he tried equally hard to stay.
On Tuesday morning a general anesthetic CT at Murdoch confirmed our worst fears and I made the decision not to wake him up.
His poor little fire compromised hoof was too far gone from a rampant infection that seemed to be completely resistant to everything thrown at it.
It was noted on the scan his little heals had 3 times the thickening from his burns in March and he also showed some tendon tear around the fetlock. Id exhausted every option I could possibly do.
Sunny was my absolute pride & joy and very much part of my family.
He was born two days before Grace in January 2009 & never knew another home other than here.
He has left a huge void and I’m completely and utterly devastated to have come this far after March, only to lose him like this. This is a hard one to take.

Lisa rode Sunny every day when she stayed with us originally as a German backpacker many moons ago. She came back for our wedding in 2017 and enjoyed more time with her favourite little stallion.
I’m glad I had a last ride round the farm on him a few months ago . I’m so proud of our achievements too together over the years.
No more words ….. I’m heartbroken
