🏆❤️ **CANNING VALE VET – WINNER OF THE 2026 LOCAL BUSINESS AWARD** ❤️🏆
I am incredibly proud to share that **Canning Vale Vet – Open 7 Days a Week** has won the **2026 Local Business Award for Perth and Regional Western Australia in the Veterinary category**.
The award ceremony was held at Novotel Perth on **30 September 2026**. At that exact time, I was sitting on a train travelling from Munich to Vienna during my trip through Europe.
When the news came through, I found it difficult to believe how far life had taken me. I was almost in tears thinking about the incredible love, trust and support our local community has shown to me and my team over so many years.
I was once a little boy growing up in a small village in northern India. I learned the alphabet on a wooden writing board, walked to school barefoot, and studied at night under the light of a small kerosene lantern until Year 12.
I could never have imagined that one day I would build a veterinary hospital in Australia and see it recognised at this level.
Our journey began in **2012**, when I started a mobile veterinary service called **Vet At Home**.
At the time, my daughter **Aduesha — Addy, or Khushi as I call her — was only nine years old**. I was raising her as a single parent while trying to build a veterinary business from absolutely nothing.
We had no money for advertising, so Addy and I walked through parks and neighbourhoods, handing out flyers and putting them into letterboxes ourselves. Our loan applications were rejected by almost every bank.
But something much more important happened.
**Thousands of Australian families trusted us.**
They supported our little mobile veterinary service, recommended us to friends and family, welcomed me into their homes to care for their pets, and encouraged us to dream bigger.
That support eventually gave us the courage to open **Canning Vale Vet on 11 November 2018**.
And from that day, we never looked back.
The support from our local community has been overwhelming. Even today, hundreds of clients who first met me during those early home visits continue to bring their pets to Canning Vale Vet.
To every one of those families — **thank you.** 🙏🏽
Thank you, Australia, and thank you to the Australian people for giving people like me the opportunity to work hard, build something meaningful and be judged fairly by what we contribute. 🇦🇺

❤️ **Tyana** – Junior Nurse — a true puppy lover who would probably take every puppy home if we let her. 🐶❤️
❤️ **Tamika** – Head of Puppy School — somehow Ram still can't get rid of her 😂… and we wouldn't want to. An amazing trainer and a wonderful part of our team.
❤️ **Sophie Lavery** – our wonderful Senior Nurse, currently on long-term maternity leave — affectionately known as **Ram's second child**. ❤️ Sophie has been part of this journey for many years and will always be a very special part of the Canning Vale Vet family.

But this story would be incomplete without mentioning one very special person — **Aduesha Naresh, my Khushi.** ❤️
Khushi was there when this journey started from absolutely nothing in 2012.
She was only nine years old when we walked through neighbourhoods together putting our little Vet At Home flyers into letterboxes because we simply could not afford advertising.
Fourteen years later, while I was thousands of kilometres away travelling through Europe, **Khushi, together with Samantha and our team, stood on that stage and accepted this award on behalf of Canning Vale Vet.**
That moment means more to me than words can describe. ❤️
I am also deeply grateful to my teachers, mentors, colleagues, friends and the hundreds of people who have helped me at different stages of my life.
**Nobody reaches anywhere alone.**
And finally, there are no words sufficient to thank my **parents**, who may not have been able to give me everything materially, but gave me something far more valuable:
**Honesty. Integrity. Hard work. Strong moral values.**
From a wooden writing board and a kerosene lantern in a small village in northern India…
to a veterinary hospital in Western Australia receiving this recognition.
