Based in Western Australia, we rescue, rehabilitate, and find loving homes for surrendered, abandoned, and neglected Guinea Pigs. Our foster-based network ensures each piggy receives personalised care until they're ready for adoption. Run entirely by volunteers, every donation goes directly back into our rescue efforts. 💗 Dorothy, Blanche & Rose 💗 – The Golden Girls Trio! 👑🐹🐹🐹

Meet the gorgeous Golden Girls: Dorothy, Rose, and Blanche! 💕 These three are full of personality and will happily chatter away for hours, keeping you endlessly entertained 🎶

Dorothy is the boss lady of the trio, always in charge and a big fan of spinach feasts 🥬—she also loves having her adorably out-of-control fur patted during cuddles. Rose is the sweetest and shyest of the girls, with a gentle nature and a love of fresh greens. She’s a big chatterbox in the evenings and during cuddle time 🌿✨

Blanche is the youngest and sassiest of the three, always first on the scene when food is around (especially capsicum!) 🌶️ She’s confident and loves being near people, happily coming out to say hello.
All three girls can be a little nervy at first, but they come around quickly and enjoy being held—especially when they can snuggle together 💕

🦜 Happy World Parrot Day! 🦜
As a guinea pig rescue, we’ll admit we’re a little biased towards furry friends — but today we’re celebrating one of WA’s most unique native species: the Western Ground Parrot 💚 (and, of course, featuring these two cuties!).

✨ Fun fact: Just like guinea pigs, Western Ground Parrots spend most of their time on the ground rather than flying, and they’re most active at dawn and dusk — even sleeping tucked away in ground shelter! 🌅🌾

Like many of the guinea pigs that come through our rescue, these beautiful birds rely on dedicated people to protect them and give them a chance to thrive

With only a very small population remaining in the wild, they’re a powerful reminder of why conservation and animal welfare matter so much 🌿🐾

🌧️⚡ Storm Safety Alert — Please Bring Your Guinea Pigs Indoors ⚡🌧️

With severe storms approaching, we’re urging all members of our community to bring your guinea pigs and other small pets safely indoors as soon as possible. Strong winds, heavy rain, thunder, lightning, and sudden temperature drops can be life‑threatening for small animals, even in sturdy outdoor hutches.

If you need emergency indoor housing, here are some quick and safe options you can set up right now:
🛁 Bathroom or Laundry
Small, enclosed rooms offer extra protection during storms
Line the floor with towels, fleece, or puppy pads
Add a hidey (cardboard box, carrier, or laundry basket on its side)
🚿 Shower or Bathtub
A secure, contained space away from windows
Place a towel or mat underneath for warmth and comfort
Add hay, water, and a hidey so they feel safe
🏕️ Pop‑Up Playpens
Easy to set up in any sheltered room
Ideal for temporary indoor housing
Add bedding, hay, and a hidey to reduce stress
🧺 Carriers, C&C Panels, or Storage Tubs
Carriers are perfect for short‑term sheltering
C&C grids can be quickly assembled into a safe indoor pen
Large ventilated storage tubs work well as temporary enclosures

⚠️ Important
Keep pets away from windows and drafts
Make sure they have constant access to hay, water, and dry bedding
Stay indoors until conditions improve and it is safe outside
Your guinea pigs rely on you to keep them safe during wild weather. Even a short time outside in a storm can be extremely dangerous.

💛 Please bring them inside now and keep them cosy until the storm has passed.

💚 National Volunteer Week 💚
This week, we want to say a huge thank you to every volunteer who makes Guinea Pig Haven possible. From our dedicated foster carers opening their homes, to our hardworking ‘big bosses’ behind the scenes, and our amazing community of supporters, adopters, Gubers (Guinea Pig Ubers) and followers we couldn't do it without you.

✨ So far in 2026:
🐹 132 guinea pigs welcomed into care
🏡 114 guinea pigs adopted into loving homes
🍼 18 babies born in care (18 VERY cute babies may we add)

Every cage cleaned, every transport completed, every donation made, every application processed and every share on social media has helped change the lives of guinea pigs in need.

Meet Bubbles and Badger, two adorable bonded brothers looking for their forever home together 💕 At around 2 years old, these boys are gentle, friendly, and very used to being handled—even enjoying being lovingly carried around by a young child 🫂

They’re also comfortable living in a home with cats, making them a great fit for calm, pet-friendly households 🐾

Bubbles is the more confident and curious of the pair, always keen to see what’s going on, while Badger is a little shy at first but soon shows his sweet nature and enjoys quiet cuddles alongside his brother 🌿
