Hi everyone,
I have some very distressing news to share. Unfortunately, New Year’s Eve gave me a parting gift I didn’t ask for. While walking in my backyard, my ankle rolled and I took a nasty fall onto my right arm. It was a total freak accident (and no, I hadn’t even had a drink!), but it’s resulted in some serious damage.
I’ve sustained multiple fractures, including a rare and complex injury to my humerus elbow joint that requires specialised surgery to reset. I’m currently in a cast from my fingers to my armpit and completely unable to groom.
Coming on the heels of my previous knee injury, this latest setback has left me in a state of absolute shock. I am truly gutted to be in this position. It feels as though I can’t catch a break, and the emotional toll of being sidelined again—just as I was navigating my previous recovery—is immense.
I love what I do, and I love seeing your pups every day — the thought of being away from grooming for months is truly devastating.
At this stage, I’m hoping to return around May, but I’ve been told recovery could take anywhere from 6 to 18 months. I’ll be reaching out to everyone with upcoming appointments to discuss next steps.
Thank you so much for your patience, support, and understanding while I focus on healing and getting back on my feet (and back to the grooming trailer).
Nicole
