Panka: “Good morning guys!! What are we doing today?! 😍”

Jessie & Simba: “We were actually planning on doing absolutely nothing.” 😑😂

I think it’s safe to say little Panka is starting to feel a bit more comfortable around here! 🥰

🐾 This is little Panka ❤️

Last night I welcomed this little angel for a last-minute trial stay before she comes back for a longer holiday with us in a couple of weeks. 🥰

Panka is only 4 months old, and like many of my guests, she was a little shy and unsure at first. New place, new people, new smells… and two senior gentlemen to meet too! 😂

But she’s already adapting so well and slowly finding her feet, even around Jessie and Simba. ❤️

That’s exactly why I love having the opportunity to do a trial before a longer stay. It gives them time to get to know me, the house and the other dogs without putting too much pressure on them all at once.

Now let’s see how this little angel is going to turn out after her first 48 hours… 😏🐾

Something tells me the shy phase might not last very long. 😂❤️

🐾 Look at our Mia now! ❤️

When I first started visiting Mia, she was so shy and unsure of me that she would hide away and keep her distance.

And now… look at her! 🥹

Every time I visit, I get to see a little more of her personality coming out. She’s happy, comfortable, playful and definitely knows when I have treats in my pocket! 😂

She’s still a little shy when I first arrive, but after our hour-long walk together, something changes. By the time we get back home, she’s relaxed, comfortable and ready to show me her playful side. ❤️

And then the fun starts… I run, she chases me, and of course there are treats involved! 😂🥰🐾

Seeing her go from hiding away from me to actually wanting to interact, play and enjoy our time together fills my heart with so much joy every single time I go to see her. ❤️

This is why I never rush an animal to trust me. I give them their own time and space, and when that trust eventually comes… moments like these make it all worth it. 🥹🐾

You’ve come such a long way, beautiful Mia! ❤️

🐾 Remember our sweet Simba? ❤️

A few days ago I introduced you to this very shy and unsure 15-year-old gentleman, and I said we were going to give him all the time and space he needed to settle in.

Well… what a difference three days can make! 🥹

Once Simba realised that he was safe, loved and very much part of the family here, he completely let himself go. ❤️

Suddenly he was running happily on our walks, asking for treats (quite confidently, I might add 😂), coming for cuddles, enjoying Jessie’s company and sleeping so deeply during his naps and at night.

Seeing that change in him was just beautiful. From the little dog who wasn’t quite sure about us to a relaxed, happy boy who knew he was somewhere safe. 🥰🐾

And I think Simba has figured out the arrangement now…

Mummy goes to work and Simba goes on holiday! 😂❤️

Next time he comes through the door, he’ll already know where he is, who we are and that this is his little home away from home. 🐾❤️

🐾 Say hello to Oreo & Eddie! ❤️

These two gorgeous boys are another couple of my ongoing clients, and I’m currently seeing them twice a week for our walks together. 🐶🐶

Next month I’ll be looking after them while their family is away, so these walks are about much more than just getting some exercise.

For me, this is part of the job too. Taking the time beforehand to build a relationship with the animals I’ll be caring for can make such a difference when their family eventually goes away.

Our regular walks give Oreo and Eddie the chance to get to know me, become familiar with me and slowly build that trust.

And it works both ways! It gives me time to learn their personalities, their little habits, how they behave on our walks and what makes each of them feel comfortable.

So when the time comes for me to stay with them in their own home, I won’t be a stranger suddenly arriving and changing their routine, I’ll already be someone they know and feel comfortable having around. ❤️

Pet sitting starts before the actual booking begins. Getting to know the animals in my care and allowing them to get to know me is all part of what I do.

And in the meantime… Oreo, Eddie and I get to enjoy plenty of walks and adventures together! 🐾🥰

🐾 This is Simba ❤️

This week I’ve welcomed this very sweet gentleman into my care. Simba is one of my new ongoing clients, so we’ll be getting to know each other very well. 🥰

Simba is 15 years young and, as you can probably imagine, at his age he knows exactly what he likes!

He’s a little shy and unsure at the moment, so for now we’re taking things slowly and giving him all the time and space he needs to get comfortable, get to know me and settle into his new routine.

With senior dogs especially, I think it’s so important not to expect too much too quickly. Sometimes they just need a little extra patience, reassurance and plenty of quiet time. ❤️

This is only the beginning of our time together…

I’ll show you how sweet Simba is getting on in a few days. 🥰🐾

This is Mia 🥰🐾

Mia is one of my lovely ongoing clients that I get to spend some quality time with, twice a week.

She can be a little shy when she first meets people, but once she feels comfortable… her cheeky little personality comes out! 😜💕

We’ve been enjoying our daily walks together, soaking up the morning sun, listening to the sounds around us, having a little bit of fun and then finding a nice spot to relax 🥰☀️🐶💛
