The cute bunny was taken home by his owners.

He had been loose in a town where Calicivirus has been deliberately released. So we treated him for Rabbit Fleas, both to protect him, and also in case he brought those fleas into our clinic.

Calivivirus can be spread by contact with a contagious rabbit, and also carried from that rabbit to others by insects: notably Mosquitoes, and Rabbit Fleas [the ones that crawl, rather than hop, and which eventually stick-fast to the edge of the ears]
So, for pet bunnies:-
1. Use Imidocloprid [ ] to stop fleas biting.
With most flea treatments need fleas to bite, and so do not protect from diseases they may carry. Imidocloprid stays on the surface of the bunny & acts by contact on the flea; killing it before bites.
2. Use fly screens inside and mosquito nets outside. A human mosquito net can be draped effectively around most rabbit hutches.
3. Vaccinate your bunny. This does not guarantee 100% potection, so nos.1 and 2 are still needed.
4. Rabbit fleas travel on cats and dogs, so treat them with Imidocloprid too, for their own sake, and so they don't bring the fleas in close to your bunny.

Not quite black but very lucky,
TASH is so very gentle, trusting and sweet, but she needs a home. [Details on adoption in the post below]
She was dumped next a busy, scary highway.
Why?
Her previous owners must have been nice to her ... why did they turn so mean?
Because, tho barely 5 months old, she had been in heat and Might Be Pregnant!
Here at PenguinVet she waited out her quarantine, and has now been speyed ... and did have 6 barely there kittens. Very confronting. Very sad.
But TASH is fine, enjoying her breakfast.

We have them in the window, but only when some-one is here to keep an eye on them.
1. Wicheta: a stone grey tabby girl, 10 weeks old. She has been desexed, microchipped, and has started her course of vaccinations. And her brother
2. Linesman: a silver tabby boy.
3. Lucy, is still home-hunting after her previous owner passed away. At 18 months, she is a quiet, trim, gentle, and sooky. tabby and white short-haired cat. A lovely lifetime companion. She was speyed, chipped and vaccinated here, and we will top her up with a vaccination booster before she leaves.

Kittens stay with us at least 14 days to be health & temperamnet assessed, de-wormed, de-flea'd, desexed and litter trained. Each has a microchip registered for life into the name of their new owner, accessible on a world-wide data base. Each is vaccinated with a full primary course for F4-FIV
Each comes to you with some food and kitty litter, they are used to; and a blanket or toy they love, to help them settle in.

Our Found cat has been claimed.
Hit by car this morning; was killed instantly.
Thankyou to the lady who wrapped him up and brought him in.
He had no microchip, unusual in a young desexed cat, so we could not immediately contact his owners. But they did find him, and took him home.
