I finish my Training and Tricks dog training class next Monday and will be starting my next one the following Monday (7th September) at 7 pm in the Midway Point hall. These classes are suitable for dogs older than 6 months. The class runs for 6 weeks and costs $30 per session. The focus is on basic training, including loose leash walking practice, and learning foundation tricks for fun and building focus on you.

Our Tricks and Training class had their final session last night. They all did so well demonstrating their new skills. Sadly Ella and Otis missed the last two classes but three of the four teams did their tricks presentation and received their certificates.

Saturday afternoons when I’m not trialling with the boys is set aside for one of my favourite group training sessions. A bunch of my long term friends/clients get together for advanced training for an hour. We loosely follow the Institute of Modern Dog Training’s partnership grades which are a set of obedience exercises that range from basic to very advanced and there’s an assessment protocol that people can take (if they want) that earns them a rosette and a level certificate. We’ve got to know each other well and our dogs are really comfortable together. The group currently ranges from 5 to 7 people and we also dabble in Scentwork, basic agility, tricks and rally as well. There is space for a few more to join up. If you’re interested you would need to have completed my training/tricks class or to have done higher level classes at other places.
