🔥 I BECAME MY OWN BOSS FOR FREEDOM… SO WHY DO I FEEL MORE TRAPPED THAN EVER? 💔

Nobody tells you this part about running your own business…

🐝 The 12–14 hour days.
💔 The guilt of missing family time.
💸 The bills that don’t stop when you’re sick.
😩 The constant financial pressure.
🥺 The exhaustion you hide behind a smile.

I LOVE my mobile dog grooming business. 🐾❤️

But some days, I’m physically, mentally and emotionally running on EMPTY.

And I’ve started asking myself…

Is this really what I want for the next 10–15 years?

I didn’t become my own boss to work myself into the ground.

I wanted FREEDOM.
More family time.
Less financial stress.
And a life I actually have time to enjoy.

That’s why I’ve started building something online alongside my grooming business. 💻🐝

Not because I’m giving up…

Ever feel like you’re so busy making a living that you’re forgetting to actually LIVE?

Hey ladies! 👋💕 I’m Bernii, the woman behind The Busy Bee 🐝 Life, and I thought it was time to properly reintroduce myself!

I’m a mum of two, a wife, a small business owner, a dog groomer and a woman who’s spent years juggling ALL the things!

The early mornings.
The long working days.
The endless responsibilities.
The bills that never stop coming.
And that constant feeling that there just aren’t enough hours in the day!

Sound familiar? 🤷‍♀️

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my dog grooming business. 🐶❤️

But somewhere between working ridiculous hours, raising a family and navigating life’s unexpected challenges, I started asking myself something…

Is this really how I want to spend the next 10–15 years of my life?

At almost 50, I’ve realised something pretty important.

💕 I don’t want to work harder.
💕 I want to work smarter.
💕 I want more time with the people I love.
💕 I want the freedom to make choices without everything revolving around work.

And most importantly…

I don’t want to look back one day wishing I’d done things differently.

So I’ve decided to start building something alongside my grooming business.

An online business in high-ticket sales that I’m learning, growing and navigating one step at a time.

Am I an expert? NOPE! 😂
Have I got it all figured out? Absolutely NOT!

But I’m showing up, learning and giving myself the opportunity to create something different.

And that’s what The Busy Bee 🐝 Life is really about.

It’s about REAL women living REAL lives.

The busy mums.
The hardworking business owners.
The women starting over.
The women who feel like they’ve spent their whole lives putting everyone else first.

The women who know they want something more but aren’t quite sure where to start.

❤️ NOT ALL GRIEF COMES FROM LOSING SOMEONE TO DEATH.

Today marks exactly one year since I lost my beautiful Dad. 💔

365 days without his voice, his stories, his wisdom and the comfort of knowing he was always there.

My Dad lived 95 incredible years. A true country gentleman and a man I was so proud to call my father. ❤️

But what I never imagined was that while navigating the grief of losing him, I’d also find myself grieving another loss.

One I never saw coming.

For the past six months, I’ve also been grieving the loss of a relationship I held so incredibly close to my heart.

The relationship with my own daughter. 💔

And that’s a different kind of heartbreak.

Because sometimes the people we love most are still here, living their lives, but no longer part of ours in the way they once were.

Nobody prepares you for that.

This past year has taught me something I wish I’d never had to learn.

Not everything in life is a given.
Not tomorrow.
Not relationships.
Not even the people you thought would always be beside you.

Somewhere amongst the heartbreak, the long working days, running my own business, being a mum and a wife, I’ve started asking myself…

What do I actually want the next chapter of my life to look like?

I’m nearly 50, and if this past year has taught me anything, it’s that TIME is the one thing we can never get back.

That’s a huge part of why I’ve started building something different alongside my grooming business. 🐝

Not because I have everything figured out, but because I want more freedom, more choices and more time for what truly matters.

I’m learning that you can be heartbroken and hopeful at the same time.

You can miss the life you once had while slowly building a new one.

And you can love people from a distance while learning to love yourself a little more. ❤️

To my beautiful Dad…

I’d give anything for one more conversation with you.

And to any woman quietly carrying grief or heartbreak…

Your story isn’t finished. ❤️🐝

🐝💧 SOMETIMES THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE START WITH A LITTLE CURIOSITY…

If you’d told me a year ago that I’d be learning about water technology AND building an online business alongside my dog grooming business, I probably would’ve laughed! 😂

But here we are! 💗

For years, my days have revolved around working hard, running my own business, being a mum, a wife and trying to squeeze everything else into whatever hours are left.

And somewhere along the way, I started asking myself…

Surely there’s another way to create a life where I’m not constantly trading all my time for money?

That’s what led me to discover Enagic. 💧

And while the business opportunity initially caught my attention, I’ve also really enjoyed learning about the technology behind Kangen Water.

Who knew one machine could produce different types of water for drinking, skincare and everyday household uses?! 🤯

I’m still learning, still growing and definitely still figuring out this whole online business world! 😂

But that’s the exciting part.

I’m not here pretending I’ve got everything worked out.

I’m just a hardworking mum, approaching 50, who’s decided it’s never too late to try something different. ❤️

Because I don’t necessarily want to stop working. I just want more CHOICE in how I spend my time.

More time with my family.
More flexibility.
More opportunities to enjoy the little things.

And maybe, just maybe, build something that gives me those options in the future. 🐝

I LOVE MY LIFE… BUT I DON’T WANT TO BE TOO BUSY TO ACTUALLY LIVE IT. ❤️

And this weekend marks one whole year since we lost him.

I honestly don’t know where that year has gone.

Grief has taught me a lot of things, but one of the biggest is just how bloody precious TIME is.

You think you’ve got plenty of it… until suddenly you don’t.

And it’s made me look at my own life very differently.

I’m a mum. A wife. A daughter. A friend. I run my own mobile dog grooming business. 🐶 I’m constantly juggling work, bills, family, appointments and approximately 473 other things. 😂

Some days I’m working until 6 or 7pm and by the time I get home, I’m absolutely knackered.

And somewhere amongst all that BUSY… I’ve realised I don’t want the next chapter of my life to just fly past me.

I’m nearing 50.

My girls are growing up.

Life is changing.

And losing Dad made me realise there are some things you simply can’t get back.

Time is one of them.

I don’t want fewer roles in my life — I want more TIME for the roles I love. ❤️

More time with my girls.
More time with Wade.
More weekends away.
More memories.
More freedom to say YES instead of “I can’t, I’ve got work.”

That’s a huge part of why I’ve started building another income alongside my grooming business. 🐝

I’m not walking away from something I love.

I’m trying to build a life where I don’t have to work myself into the ground forever just to earn an income.

And I’m sharing this journey because I know there have to be other women out there thinking…

“I love my life… I just want more time to actually LIVE it.”

Bloody rain. 🌧️😂

When you’re a mobile dog groomer, rain like this doesn’t exactly make for the easiest working day!

But sitting here today, I’ve also got something much bigger on my mind.

This weekend marks one year since I lost my Dad. ❤️

I honestly can’t believe it’s been a year.

And if the last 12 months have taught me anything, it’s that life does not wait until work settles down, the bills are paid, the weather behaves or your diary magically clears itself.

Life just keeps happening.

Grief happens.
Kids need you.
Family needs you.
Your health sometimes says nope.
And apparently Queensland weather decides to absolutely lose its mind. 😂🌧️

Running my grooming business has taught me so much and I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve built — but it’s also one of the reasons I started looking at building an income online.

Not because I want to stop working.

Because I want more choice over how I spend my time.

Especially on the days and weekends that really matter. ❤️

So today I’m working around the rain, grooming my doggies, building my other little business in the gaps… and thinking about Dad.

Nearly one year without you, Dad.
Miss you more than words can say. ❤️

And I think you’d be pretty proud that I’m still having a crack at everything. 🐝

Here’s to building a life with a little more freedom, flexibility and TIME for the people we love.

This is my normal world. 😂🐶

Doggos.
Grooming. ✂️
Training my apprentice.
Teaching the next generation.
Running my own business.
Being Mum.
Being a wife.
And wearing approximately 473 other hats in between. 🤣

And I genuinely love what I’ve built.

But here’s what I’m learning…

Building a successful life shouldn’t have to mean that YOU are required for every dollar you earn.

Because when I don’t work…
I don’t get paid.

If I’m sick — no income.
If one of my girls needs me — I reschedule clients.
If we want to go away — I have to block out work.
And there’s only so many doggos this body can groom in one day. 😂🐶

That’s one of the biggest reasons I’ve started learning how to build an income online alongside the business I already have.

I’m not trying to escape my life.
I’m trying to create more TIME to enjoy it. ❤️

More days like that last photo. 🥹

More time with my girls.
More adventures with Wade. ❤️
More weekends away.
More memories.
More choice over when I work.

And hopefully one day, less pressure to constantly trade my time and body for income.

I’m still building it.
I’m still learning.
