Darwin My Vet Service & Uni Ave Vet Hospital are looking for an exceptional Veterinary Receptionist to join our growing team across our two Darwin, NT veterinary clinics.
No formal veterinary qualifications are required — we're looking for the right person, not a piece of paper.

🐶 About the role
Our reception team is the first point of contact for our clients and plays a huge role in creating a positive experience for both pets and their owners.
Your day will be varied and fast-paced, including:
Welcoming clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism
Answering phones and managing client enquiries
Booking appointments and managing the daily schedular
Processing payments and handling client accounts
Communicating with clients regarding their pets' care
Coordinating with veterinarians and veterinary nurses
Managing emails, messages and follow-ups
Maintaining accurate client and patient information
Supporting the veterinary team with general administrative tasks
Keeping the reception area organised, welcoming and running smoothly

We're looking for someone who:
Is genuinely passionate about helping people and their pets
Has outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Is highly organised and able to prioritise competing tasks
Can remain calm and professional in a busy environment
Has excellent attention to detail
Is confident using computers and learning new systems
Can work independently while being an effective team player
Is reliable, proactive and takes ownership of their responsibilities
Has a warm, friendly and compassionate nature
Isn't afraid to ask questions and learn
Understands that veterinary clients can sometimes be emotional, worried or upset — and knows how to respond with empathy
🩺 Veterinary experience?
It's an advantage, but it's not essential.
We are happy to train the right person in veterinary-specific systems and terminology. What we can't easily teach is attitude, organisation, empathy and exceptional customer service.
Fluent English communication is essential, as this role involves handling client enquiries, discussing pet care and providing clear and compassionate communication in a busy veterinary environment.
