🌱 A Great Morning Talking All Things Soil! 🌱
On Wednesday, 14 October, we welcomed attendees to Mulbarton Compost for our Soil Enhancement for Grazing Field Day Trial, exploring how compost, biochar and regenerative farming practices can improve soil health, productivity and long-term sustainability.
We were fortunate to hear from three fantastic presenters:
🌿 Chris Ellery – Soil Food Web, who shared insights into the fascinating world of soil biology and the importance of healthy, living soils. Soil Foodweb Institute
🌱 Phil Giles – Mulbarton Compost, who discussed the role of compost and biochar in improving soil health and supporting productive agricultural landscapes.
🚜 Michael Zerk – Mulbarton Compost, who shared practical insights into the project and its on-ground application.
🌾 Edel Stoner – Landscape SA Limestone Coast, who provided valuable insights into current and future projects with the Landscape Board.
The morning provided a great opportunity to bring together local growers, industry representatives and those passionate about improving our soils, with plenty of valuable discussion and knowledge sharing.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us, our presenters for sharing their expertise, and the Limestone Coast Landscape Board for their ongoing support.
And of course, there's no better way to start a field day than with a BBQ breakfast! ☕🥓
