🚛 **Float Training Clinic – This Saturday at Otford Valley Equestrian** 🐴

Does your horse hesitate to load? Rush backwards? Or do you simply want to build confidence and make float loading easier and safer?

Join Christine this Saturday for a Group Float Training Clinic.

This is a fantastic format because you'll learn far more than just working with your own horse.

You'll:
• Watch different horses with different personalities and challenges.
• Learn why each horse responds the way it does.
• See the training techniques demonstrated step-by-step in real time.
• Have the opportunity to work with your own horse under my guidance.
• Gain practical skills and confidence you can continue using.

Often, watching several horses go through the process teaches even more than working with just your own.

Whether your horse needs help loading, travelling confidently, or you're simply looking to improve your handling skills, this clinic is suitable for all experience levels.

$65 per person - OVE agistee ($95 non-agistee)

Don't have a horse to bring, or just want to learn? Come and watch the entire clinic, see a variety of horses worked through different loading challenges, and learn the techniques, timing and problem-solving you can apply with your own horse at home.

Saturday Jump School is BACK! 18th July - Christine's first Saturday back after returning from Europe (with new material!!)
Note: this is instead of individual lessons that week

There’ll be 3 structured group sessions for you to choose from (max 4–6 riders depending on weather/space):
✅️ Poles & flatwork/jump position
✅️ Cross rails & low courses
✅️ 70cm+

Each session will run for 1.5 hours, with a focus on correct technique, confidence, and building skills through exercises — very much lesson-style with plenty of individual feedback throughout.
Spots are limited, so I’m offering it to you guys first before opening it up wider.

Cost:
OVE riders – $95
Non-OVE riders – $125

I’m switching things up slightly this Saturday and running the day as ***Saturday Jump School*** instead of individual lessons.

Friday Twilight Jump Club @ Otford Valley Equestrian

This Friday 19th December.

A fun, low-pressure jumping afternoon where riders can build confidence, get ring mileage, and enjoy clear rounds from poles to 1.10m.

We’ve set our heights so every rider can grow their confidence and start kicking goals — beginning with poles on the ground, then moving to X-rails, and up through 45cm, 60cm, 75cm, 85cm, 95cm, 1.00m, 1.05m, and 1.10m.

Join us for relaxed clear rounds, great vibes, and an arena that’s all about progress and encouragement.

What a week! Our recent Sport Horse Camp was an unforgettable experience packed with learning, laughter, and serious skill-building.

With a small, intimate group of passionate riders, we dove deep into both groundwork and saddle time—riding up to three times a day under the guidance of a dedicated EA Level 1 Coach. Each rider worked closely with their own horse for the week, creating an incredible opportunity to strengthen connection, confidence, and capability.

From groundwork foundations and understanding equine psychology, to mastering dressage, show jumping, and working equitation-style activities, every session was designed to challenge and empower. We even dabbled in horseback archery, mounted games, trail rides through the rainforest, and a whole lot of barrel racing fun!

Off the horse, the team bonded over horsey trivia, team-building games, marshmallow roasting under the stars, and our classic pizza + horse movie night. We even enjoyed a very special dawn ride to commemorate ANZAC Day, up and riding in the dark to meet the sunrise, a truly incredible experience that everyone will always remember.

The week wrapped up with a brilliant showcase day, featuring a full, formal-attire jacket and breeches dressage test, followed by show-style jumping rounds — where parents and friends watched in awe as riders demonstrated just how far they'd come in just a few days. The growth in confidence, control, and horsemanship was clear to see.

We’re beyond proud of every rider who joined us—and we’re already counting down the days to the next one.

Position available (weekend work) on horse agistment property in Otford for someone keen to get involved with horses. Job involves preparing hay and horse feeds and feeding the horses around the property, need to be able to drive. Previous horse experienced also required, as need to be able to halter and rug etc.

Ain't no party like an Otford Christmas Party! 🎄🎅🥳
The OVE event of the year kicked off with our annual Christmas trail ride into the rainforest, up the hillside and through the creek - the horses splashing around is always hilarious! The riders were awesome and the horses were absolutely amazing.

The after a delicious spread for lunch (and dessert 🍨😋), it was time for the off-horse games to begin. Crazy shenanigans like broom hobby horse eventing; three-legged racing; human wheelbarrow racing; pass the candy cane (knees only 😂); and an on-foot chariot race, steeplechase style, rounded it all out ...oh, did we mention this was all while in the fancy dress theme of Togas! Think the consensus was pretty much unanimous, it was the best horse-focused Toga Party ever! 🔱💃🐴

Just check out the smiles on everyone's faces - they literally say it all 😁

Elissa Jaie has done such an amazing job with Helensburgh Pony Club this year!! It wouldn't have been possible for it to grow and flourish the way it has without all your time, effort and hardwork! 🥰

After a serious horse accident in her youth, Elissa stepped away from riding but returned as an adult with a clear mission: to ensure today’s young riders have the opportunities she missed out on herself.

Her dedication to the Club is nothing short of inspiring.

🌟 A True Community Leader – Elissa is at every rally, meeting, and working bee, welcoming members and newcomers alike. She’s the first to arrive, unlocking the gates, and the last to leave after everything is packed away.

🌟 Making Events Happen – This year, Elissa played a key role in organising the Club’s first Gymkhana in years. It wasn’t just any event—it became the largest Gymkhana in Zone 22 in over 13 years. From securing sponsorships and prizes to managing the admin and logistics, Elissa’s efforts have ensured Helensburgh Pony Club is now set up for a bright future.

🌟 Championing Pony Club Values – Elissa’s commitment to safety, horse welfare, friendship, and rider development is at the heart of everything she does. Despite not having children at Pony Club, she works tirelessly to create opportunities for young riders and supports other clubs in the Zone.

Helensburgh Pony Club was at risk of closing, but thanks to Elissa and her team, it is thriving once again. Her humility, kindness, and dedication have made a lasting impact on the Club and its members.
