It was the night of nights last night with the Show Horse Western Australia Off the Track Feature night!

The classes were filled with exceptional Thoroughbreds and Standardbreds but only one horse trotted out the winner from each class!

CELEBRATING SIRE'S
Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day is a great opportunity to look into your horse's pedigree and consider who they came from.

Some stallions throw very specific traits into their progeny, while others are passive. For example, Playing God progeny are more often than not of a similar appearance; while other stallions produce a very diverse range of colours, but similar personalities!

💭 Let us know in the comments who sired your heart horse/s and what traits do you think they've inherited from their dad!

ADVANCED FEEDS HORSE OF THE YEAR OFF THE TRACK FEATURE

Last year, Show Horse Western Australia introduced Standardbred classes into their Horse of the Year schedule, and thus, the Off the Track Feature night was born.

This year, proudly sponsored by Off the Track WA, the Standardbred and Thoroughbred Show Horse leaderboards have also been introduced.

Encouraging participation and celebrating the beauty and paces of these horses, we're eager to see who will be crowned the 2026 Horse of the Year Off the Track Winners!

We're thrilled to be sponsoring a big weekend of events celebrating retired racehorses.

The Show Horse Western Australia Advanced Feeds 2026 EWA Horse and Rider of the Year event kick off their OTT Feature night on Saturday with both Thoroughbred and Standardbred classes.

Dryandra Regional Equestrian Association Dryandra CCI has 108 retired racehorses entered to compete, with eventing back on the schedule.

Western Australian Endurance Riders Association Inc. Jerramungup endurance ride will also set off with several Standardbreds frequently participating.

TRAINING RETIRED RACEHORSES FOR NEW CAREERS

Our August Training Day was a fantastic opportunity to engage with retired racehorse owners and assist them in preparing their Thoroughbreds and Standardbreds for new careers.

From the dressage arena to the cross-country field, we were thrilled to see so many riders with smiles on their faces and horses with pricked ears. The weather was perfect, the atmosphere encouraging, and the lessons insightful.

Thank you to Les Bunning, Viktoria Chlapik and Hannie Byrne for taking the time to teach our OTTWA Passport holders.

Retraining a retired racehorse is hard, but so much more rewarding when you have good support and opportunities!
