Do your dogs and cats like to follow you to the bathroom? Hang out in there when the weather is hot as its the coolest room in the house, or feel the safest in there during storms or fireworks?
Unfortunately, this place of comfort and safety can be bad for their health.
Common household cleaning products such as bathroom cleaners, glass sprays and disinfectants, contain bleach, ammonia, chlorine, phthalates, formaldehyde and phenols and essential oils such as eucalyptus and pine which are all dangerous to pets, causing chemical burns, respiratory distress and poisoning through ingesting or paw contact.

Safety Tips

Keep pets out until all surfaces are dry

Rinse surfaces thoroughly with water to rinse away chemical residue

Store cleaning products securely away

Use pet safe alternatives such as vinegar, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide.

Safe pets are happy pets and reassured owners in the knowledge we are do our best for them.

Fun Fact
A dogs sense of smell is 10,000 to 100,000 times more sensitive than a human's.
They are so sensitive they could detect 1/2 teaspoon of sugar in an Olympic sized swimming pool!
No wonder they are so amazing at search and rescue, termite detection, sniffing out naughty things at airports and sniffing out your lunch from a mile away!

Have you ever wondered why you hear strains of Classical Music when dropping off or picking up your beloved pets?
No, we are not closet classical 'appassionatos', but multiple studies have shown that classical music played at approximately 75dB is proven to reduce stress and anxiety in domestic pets, promoting rest and reducing barking.
The slow tempo ( 50-60 bpm) has been shown to reduce heart rate.
It is often played at Grooming salons and vets for these reasons.
So, if your furry friend is stressing about the thunder storm, vacuum cleaner, a house full of strange people or similar you can always set them up to some Chopin and their favourite T shirt of yours to help reduce their anxiety.
This can also be used if you have to transport an anxious pet.
If you just can't cope with Classical you could try Soft Rock or even Reggae but leave your Death Metal or Techno dance party to when your pets aren't in the house or car.🎢🎢🎢

Luck of the Irish to ya! Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
Most people know of the Irish Wolfhound but the country has a long and proud tradition of breeding a range of intelligent, hardy and active breeds, based on the requirements of the farmers and country folk.

Meet the adorable Jolene and Dolly, Maltese x Shih Tzu (but that is an educated guess) who will be looking for their new forever home shortly.
These two scallywags are BFFs and will need to be adopted together.
They are little packets of energy with big personalities and love to be the centre of attention so would be perfect for someone with a lot of love to give.
Please message us to arrange to meet them or express your interest.
