Today we said goodbye to one of our incredible keepers after 4 amazing years at Shoalhaven Zoo.

Keeper Annabel has been such a huge part of our team and leaves behind some very big shoes to fill. Over the years she has poured her heart into the animals in her care, but anyone who knows Annabel knows her biggest soft spot has always been our koalas… especially Lawson. 🐨❤️

Her pride and joy has been running our koala breeding program and helping welcome baby Wentworth into the world, something she should be incredibly proud of.

Annabel has also been a favourite among some of our most iconic residents, including Kibby the white lion, and she played a huge role in hand-raising our Furry Friends Show superstars, Fudge and Ralph the bettongs.

Her dedication, compassion and endless hard work have helped shape so much of what happens behind the scenes here at the zoo. While we’re so sad to see her go, we’re incredibly grateful for everything she has done for the animals, the team and our visitors over the last four years.

Thank you for everything, Annabel. We’ll miss you terribly, but we know all your favourite furry faces will never forget you. 🦁🐨
