🐢✨ KREFFT’S RIVER TURTLE – EASTERN SHORT-NECK BEAUTY ✨🐢

We’ve got a beautiful group of Krefft’s River Turtles (Emydura macquarii krefftii) available, currently around 5–7 cm shell diameter.

These stunning Australian freshwater turtles are part of the Eastern Short-neck Turtle complex and are known for their hardy nature, active personalities, and long lifespans. With proper care, they can live 45–50 years and grow to a maximum of around 20–29 cm shell diameter.

They are feeding extremely well on a varied diet including mealworms, black soldier fly larvae, shrimp, live fish, and aquatic plants, and will also readily accept frozen and quality prepared foods.

Krefft’s River Turtles are locally common across parts of Queensland, from Yarraden down through to the Gold Coast. They can be distinguished from closely related short-neck species such as the Brisbane River and Murray River turtles by features including the distinctive yellow marking behind the eye, along with differences in shell shape and head structure.

This subspecies also naturally overlaps with other short-neck turtles in certain regions, and occasional hybridisation between forms has been recorded in the wild.

A fantastic long-term aquatic reptile with plenty of personality and presence in the tank or pond setup.

🐟✨ THREE SPOT HOGFISH ✨🐟

We’ve got in a stunning example of the Three Spot Hogfish (Bodianus bimaculatus), a vibrant and active marine wrasse that makes an excellent addition to well-established reef and fish-only systems.

This species is instantly recognisable by its rich red and orange tones contrasted with its distinct spot markings, giving it a bold yet elegant appearance as it moves through the rockwork and open water.

Juveniles are especially eye-catching and tend to adapt well when given a stable environment with plenty of hiding spaces. As they mature, they develop even deeper colouration and a more confident presence in the aquarium.

Like all hogfish, this species is an opportunistic feeder and will readily accept a varied diet of frozen, meaty marine foods.

A fantastic choice for aquarists looking to add colour, movement, and personality to their marine setup.

🐟✨ GOLD STRIPED PANCHAX – SURFACE DWELLING BEAUTY ✨🐟

The Gold Striped Panchax (Aplocheilus lineatus) is a striking top-dwelling species from the killifish family, known for its sleek body shape and shimmering golden lateral stripes.

An active surface feeder, this species naturally hunts small insects on the water’s surface but readily accepts a variety of prepared and frozen foods including bloodworm and quality dry foods, making it a versatile and easy-going addition to established aquariums.

Peaceful yet alert, the Gold Striped Panchax is an excellent community fish and pairs particularly well with Rainbowfish setups, where its surface-hugging behaviour complements mid-water swimmers beautifully.

Native to India, Malaysia, and Hong Kong, most individuals reach around 7 cm, though larger specimens of 10–12 cm have been recorded.

A hardy, underrated species that brings constant surface movement and interest to the aquarium.
